Re: ** Updated: Walsh now meeting with Goodell

I can't believe you are all just sitting there watching this. Why don't you just set yourselves on fire, it would probably feel better.

Very funny - and true. I'm off to the kitchen to get some matches.

My God...If Godell doesn't speak soon, these asshats are going to make the Pats responsible for global warming

10 char, or more.

Re: ** Updated: Walsh now meeting with Goodell

What a freekin' disgrace.

Someone tell these idiots that the scoring in Super Bowl 38 began at the end of the first half. They make it seem like the Pats defenders tired, while the Panthers defenders were the victim of obscene taping violations.

And that high scoring 2nd half featured a whopping 13 more pts than in the 2nd hlaf by both teams, and a ridiculous 4 more pts by the Patriots.

Re: ** Updated: Walsh now meeting with Goodell

ANOTHER tape done from the End Zone! What am I missing here??... I want to hear what Goodell has to say, but I don't know how much more of this tripe I can listen to....

Re: ** Updated: Walsh now meeting with Goodell

Wingo: "Welcome back to Sportscenter, on what has been a most revealing day..." What, exactly, has been revealed, ESPN's bias/sensationalism? Nah, we already knew that...

Worst part is that everyone knew two weeks ago what these tapes contained.

how about for the cyclone in burma and the storms in the midwest?

Re: ** Updated: Walsh now meeting with Goodell

The moron factor is on red alert on ESPN.

So far the only bit of useful information I gleened was from the Steelers tape when they clearly showed a Steeler jump offside and it didn't get called!

Now we have a moron jumping to the conclusion that we must have taped the Superbowls and certainly had time to use those tapes in game even though Goodell found no evidence to that effect after talking to 50 employees and Belichick attesting to that fact we never did that and Goodell's attesting that the notes and other documentation backed up that contention.

This is a case of mediots who spun something that was nothing into the biggest deal in the history of the world scrambling to convince the viewing public that what they are seeing, the overall quality of which is beyond useless, is more than common sense tells them it was.

This rationale is just priceless. Because we sucked for 20 years before BB arrived only underscores that we had to have been doing something illegal...LOL Who the hell is the black guy playing dumber to Schlereth's dumb???

Oh, and Clayton is having some revisionist memory issues. The three teams he told Felger were using in game tape to make adjustments are now down to 1 team whose tape was useless because their opponent stationed a big guy in front of their vidiographer. So he's changing the landscape to say while the technology exists to do that (which the morons on his network want to insist we much have done) nobody else ever managed to actually - you know - do it.

The sad thing is they are describing tapes they haven't seen. They don't get yet that these were edited from multiple camera angles post game. Frickin, irrational morons.

Re: ** Updated: Walsh now meeting with Goodell

I hope Charlie Weis speaks too. Since this supposedly affects how the games were called. And Charlie made his name as a brilliant play-caller.

Re: ** Updated: Walsh now meeting with Goodell

I might be wrong but didnt Carter call for a BB suspension while on Inside the NFL? I thought he has always been a Pats hater...

On going 16-0 again he was just quoted as saying:

"I would not be surprised at all. I believe it's easier to bounce back now than if they had won it. The schedule is mapped out for them and their big time games are spread out over the course of the season."

Ok, what are you doing right now then?

I'm not I refuse to watch that network. I'm getting the blow by blow here and it does sound laughable by what I'm reading theres nothing new, even the hate is the same. Same old schlock, same old hate.

F *** him.

Re: ** Updated: Walsh now meeting with Goodell

The thing I don't get is, regardless of your opinion on the worth of the tapes/logistics of in-game use, did ESPN not see the tape that leaked way back in September 07? Are they really shocked at what they're seeing? Isn't this what we knew it was.

Re: ** Updated: Walsh now meeting with Goodell

I can't speak for Bella*Chick, but I'm giggling my ass off watching a bunch of people lose their minds because a bunch of talking heads on ESPN are doing exactly what should have been expected of them.

Re: ** Updated: Walsh now meeting with Goodell

Exactly right. And, where is the Patriots response?

Where is the Patriots' minute by minute, tape by tape analysis of what we are seeing (they clearly knew what was coming)?.

Where is the Patriots carefully prepared refutation of the lies they knew would be hurled at them this morning?

Where is the website where the media who want to be objective can find this analysis and response and be spoonfed the patriots point of view, updated every 15 minutes or so?

Where are the commentators or former NFL players or coaches, working for the Patriots, who are available to the media via a satellite hookup or sitting in a New York hotel, to give the Patriots point of view?

In 2008, if you concede the media platforms and megaphones to your enemies, you will get creamed. That is what the Pats have done and I'm really sick of it. Why aren't they fighting back in real time? Why do they let these lies go unchallenged? I'm starting to feel that I have more invested in their exoneration than they do and I'm starting to wonder why I care so much.

The past 2 minutes have gone into dog-whistle territory between Carter and Schlereth.

What's with the prolonged shrieking?

I just had my glass of soda shatter next to me.

This is funny, and I'm actually enjoying this, because the tape of their show will be replayed later and these guys will be HAMMERED by the press at that point.

Carter is near tears at this point!

Scherler just said these tapes are FAR more damning than any seen so far. And the longer GODell waits, the more air time these morons are getting.

Yes, of course. It is clear that ESPN is entirely now about PR and marketing, since there has not been a coherent or rational thought expressed through the entire process. They have chosen to up the hysterical spin, damn the cost to the facts.

Not to mention that Vinatieri was missing field goals in that defensive struggle of a first half.
