[Update] NFL moves Chiefs-Rams game from Mexico City due to poor field conditions

If it's good enough for soccer, it's good enough for football

and we have offical games played in the dirt, in which the ref has to be protected by AKs.

lets gooo

I read the field got torn up a month ago hosting a Shakira concert and follow-on events kept it in horrible shape.

"Neither do divots." - NFL

Chris

Game has been moved back to L.A.

Am sure the Rams players are happy to be close to home during the fires...some of their families have been put up in area hotels and were going to travel with the team to Denver/Mex City.

Ok let's go LA! Help us out with the 1 seed, KC drops this they will be 9-2 and not out the realm that they drop one more to Chargers/Seahawks/Ravens.

Nice move by the Rams

In addition, the Rams will be providing thousands of complimentary tickets to first responders who are bravely protecting the greater Los Angeles community, as well as people who have been impacted by our community’s recent tragedies.

Nice PR BS. “...the Rams will be providing thousands of complimentary tickets to first responders who are bravely protecting the greater Los Angeles community...” while the fire is 35% contained.

So, first responders will get to choose between watching a football game and saving lives?

Slightly counter intuitive

To be honest, I thought it was a shame that the NFL would rob the home team (in this case LA) of a premiere matchup.

Is it more of a stud matchup than we anticipated in the offseason? Sure, but these were both division winners from a season ago so it wasn't that far-fetched for this to be a marquee game.

Oh good, now celebrities in Hollywood will be more inclined to show up as pseudo fans and we’ll get to hear the guys in the booth tell us how big into football they are as the cameras pan to them..

They love the Rams. Get them in the Super Bowl. Just like the Golden knights. 1st year have to guarantee success

When? When will ONE intelligent owner who has not been in a coma finally get the others to the board room and shytcan this damn disgrace to humanity, this pock marked punk pissant Roger Goodell?

What’s next. Visiting team threatening boycott for having to play in Green Bay in December? Baby it’s cold, the turf is hard, we could get hurt....

Doesn't really help the poor slobs from the States that bought plane tickets and boarding in Mexico City, though. Unless the NFL is planning on reimbursing the fans for that (which I would doubt).

Brother, that's why I always buy trip insurance. Got burned once like that, and learned that the $20/day or so was an excellent investment.

Never. They like the job that he's doing because he takes the fall for their piss poor decisions. They're the real morons running the show. He's just the front man/fall guy.

A few years ago, a good friend of mine planned a trip to Houston to see the Pats play the Texans sometime in December. It was a scheduled 1:00 PM start so he booked his return flight to Providence for around 8:00 PM so he could return to work for Monday morning. Well, you guessed it: a couple of weeks before, the game was flexed to 8:00 pm. Obviously, this screwed up his plans royally. Anyway, here's the kick in the ass: in frustration he called the NFL offices in NY to complain and actually got a live person to speak with. After politely explaining his situation to the person who seemingly politely listened to him, he received this response: she laughed and without a word hung up. Classy outfit...
