But don't forget: the NFL really really cares about player safety.

I remember when leaping over the center to block FG attempts was regarded as cool and awesome when Kam Chancellor was doing it. It turned into a player safety issue when Jamie Collins and Shea McLellin started reg blocking kicks.

The NFL will eventually come around on this play, but only after someone gets seriously injured.
