I agree, well said.. my mother passed 30 years ago and not a day goes by I do not wish I had another hour with her, and we were not that close... I get really pissed when someone berates their mother. You don't know what you've got till its gone.

I agree, well said.. my mother passed 30 years ago and not a day goes by I do not wish I had another hour with her, and we were not that close... I get really pissed when someone berates their mother. You don't know what you've got till its gone.

My mother, when I was in the fourth grade, decided she didn't really want to be a mom anymore. Or a wife... within 3 years, she had divorced my dad and checked out as a parent. From then on, she basically did whatever she wanted to do in the moment, regardless of the impact on others around her.

And I was actually lucky... she was a 'real mom' for me until the fourth grade, but for my younger sister and brother, they really never had any kind of a 'mom' experience. I am happy for people like TB12 who had wonderful earthly mothers, and grateful that I had at least a glimmer into that experience myself.
