Tom Brady says he's done "for good"

The Bucs are a dumpster fire.

What happens when a team with its act together comes calling Brady?
It sure seems that Brady foresaw the season the Bucs had. He tried to retire to get out of his contract with them. Only to come back and confirm what he foresaw come true.

Only way he comes back now is a situation he can't refuse,.. probably only the 49rs can offer that and might have to include Gronk coming back too. A real tall order.

When I was in high school during the 1-15 season I would never have imagined my team would have the greatest player in NFL history and would win 6 SBs.

THIS. Man, it is unbelievable....

Of about roughly 7 thousand years of humanity (depending on your beliefs)..... we were lucky to be alive during the TB era....much less just happen to be Patriots fans...

The team needs to give TB12 his red jacket the first preseason game at Gillette Stadium.

I mean I think it's pretty easy to read between the lines that Miami getting out in front and saying Tua is Our Guy took that destination off the table and I bet Brady would only have been willing to play out west far from his family if it was on the 49ers which is a stacked team in an easy division and easy conference. They just probably told him behind the scenes that they are sticking with Lance and Purdy. Vegas is way out west too, isn't as good of a team, and more importantly is in a hell division in a crazy tough conference.

So if the goal was Super Bowl or bust, he just ran out of spots where that's plausible. Titans suck. Jets suck. It's really a reflection on how much he must think the Bucs suck and are unsalvagable which is probably true.

Brady is not going to ever coach because like most great athletes in any sport I’m sure he’ll be terrible at it. It’s not a skill that translates when you are so good because it’s hard to relate to someone who just can’t do what you did so naturally.
While I agree that it's very unlikely Tom would ever coach. (too much time, in fact MORE time than when he was a player and too many other opportunities ) BUT he's be a great coach simply because he WASN'T a naturally gifted athlete. He MADE himself into the all world QB be became. He BECAME a 'strong armed' QB because of all the work he put in to improve his arm strength. Brady won games with his mind as much as his body. His greatest natural gift was his ability to process what he saw after the snap of the ball better than anyone. To get the ball to the right place, to the right guy and do it quickly

Brady has SO much info to pass on. He'd be the ideal QB/passing game coordinator coach. He's an 6th degree black belt in footwork in the pocket, and a Nobel prize winner in reading the defense before the snap and what to look for after it. He could coach a guy on just what to do in order to strengthen their arm. And now that I think about, he'd be a great play caller as well. Finally, Brady, over the years, was taught by great TEACHERS who knew how to communicate what he needed to do to become great. From BB to Tom House, Brady surrounded himself with great teachers. So I believe he would know how to pass it forward.

So I believe Tom WOULD be a great coach, but is it likely he will be? No.

The pay is 1/100th of what he was making as an underpaid QB.

What I'm wonder is if he'll be part of the SB broadcast either in studio or in the booth. Booth is interesting. I think Olsen is pretty good. Starting out next to him might be a bad introduction for Tom. Conversely Bradshaw and Jimmy Johnson need to retire. They're awful. The worry is he'll play grab ass with Gronk and it will turn into a parody.

I can see him going the Tom Moore route of coaching QBs individually. Not now but maybe in 5, 10 years or so years.

I’m dragging his ass back

I’m not crying you’re crying I thought I had accepted it because of the whole “retired” thing last year. nope still sad.
No you didn’t just cry over a grown man retiring from football. Did you?

Were I TFB I'd become the QB whisperer. Offering my services off season to evaluate and develop young NFL QBs. Limit my hours.

That entire first paragraph is really skill.

The fact that it turns out Purdy needs full tommy john and will be out all next season now confirms in my mind that Brady was told pretty bluntly through all the tampering channels he has that Kyle Shanahan just isn't interested in signing him. It's Trey Lance or Bust for that moron.

That’s a good idea, make him part of the Fox pregame show this year, Gronk will be there.
