Tom Brady says he's done "for good"

That is one of Stevenson's 43 PFT user names
Reminds me of this one on PFT from a while back. This comment was for the books. Maybe it's an old sockpuppet account for the same poster I wonder if their congressman wrote back or maybe it's hard to write when you're laughing hysterically.

Aaaand... he probably is retired! (probably)

It's been a real gift having him on our team. I really don't blame or condemn him for anything he's chosen to do, though I do understand why his ex-wife might. If you resent his having left us, blame Bill. All the whiners, jealous of his success in football and in life, should just stfu, tbh. You're just embarrassing yourself.

The fact that it turns out Purdy needs full tommy john and will be out all next season now confirms in my mind that Brady was told pretty bluntly through all the tampering channels he has that Kyle Shanahan just isn't interested in signing him. It's Trey Lance or Bust for that moron.
If that's the case, Brady would have continued playing if it were for the 49ers, then he should have held off on his retirement announcement because who knows how Shanahan will feel a few weeks removed from the season. I'm sure Shanahan isn't in a good headspace right now.

Absent bringing in Brady (or any other elite-ish veteran QB who fits into their cap), by the time Shanahan gets any stability at the quarterback position, the championship window is going to shut on the rest of the team (they can't keep an all-star team together forever).

I can't imagine it was Niners or bust for Brady especially considering his kids are in FL. I still think he may end up in Miami in 2023.

They aren’t dumping Tua. The optics alone are just too awful to do that. Tua would have to choose to retire out of caution for that to ever work. And if you know anything about Tua that ain’t happening because his dad wouldn’t let it.

Looking at how emotional he was in the video, I don't think that deep down he wanted to stop playing. I also think it was Bucs or retire. My theory, Bucs told him they were going to blow it up: cut Smith, Fournette, Brate, etc. & use his post Jun-1 retirement savings ($24M) to get back in the black. They went all in for 3 years hoping for 2 SBs. It was still worth it for them and Tom. Now I'm wondering if they start selling some of their pieces.

I just hope Fox leaves Greg Olson where he is. Hes pretty good.

They could trade Tua. Plenty of teams would want him despite the concussions. It would not be a high draft pick but they would get something.
Miami is insane if they ride with him next year. There is no way he will not be forced from the game due to the concussions. They really capsized him by playing him last year right after that first concussion only 4 days later.

If Brady was quitting all along then why did he say that he did not know what he planned to do this year?

There was a sliver of doubt to not walk away that's why.

I think he is just sad that part of his life is over. He's been playing football for what, 40 years? Tough to let that go.

Current players, past, celebrities, other American sports players, international soccer stars all saying he's the GOAT and singing praises. Well deserved
