Titans are signing Leon Washington today.

So much for my theory that his release was possibly a one-week vacation because of the club's need to have some depth to the depleted secondary against Denver.

Leon who??????

i dont even count him as a former patriot.

I have enjoyed watching Leon over the years in the NFL. He is friends with Tebow and has attended the Tebow celebrity gala in years past. Anyways congrats to Leon and best of luck to him.

Aw, hell, here comes another sleepless night...

Well, can't say the signing panned out, but injuries have a way of doing that. I kinda believe that the new rules have made kick returns obsolete anyway, so as long as Vereen stays healthy it should be no huge loss.

left bench? we could have used him there

BradyFTW!, respect. That's a big IF in this case, though. Vereen hasn't been able to stay on the field for a full season in his short career, though one could argue that what happened this year was one of those "freak" things. The jury is still out. I think we are all beginning to see how versatile the guy truly is and he may become the best version of Kevin Faulk since . . . well . . . Kevin Faulk.

I'm admittedly still a bit salty about the "release" of Woodhead. The Chargers got him for money that I'm sure the Patriots could have afforded. I don't know how much of it was Woodhead being ready to play on a team where he'd be more of a feature. I don't know how much of it was economics. I just know that I've watched quite a few SD games this season and he's been a key player in every single one of them.

Nice for Leon. He will get paid twice for these weeks (by the Patriots and by the Titans.

Speaking of which, I'm actually still mystified as to why the Patriots decided to bring him back the day before week 1 after releasing him at final cuts. Just seemed odd to do so, since had they waited a couple more days his contract wouldn't have been fully guaranteed for the rest of the year like it is now.

He looked terrible in the preseason, so I'm wondering what they saw that we didn't. Maybe someone else was poaching around, perhaps?

Not one of BB's better orchestrated FA signings or roster moves

Not to mention, they wouldn't wait for Vereen but they decided to wait for Leon.

Two of the most worthless Pats signings I can recall...

Because while it is a major source of fascination on this board, the cost of having a guy on the roster and having his salary guaranteed is so low a priority that BB barely takes it into consideration.
Risking losing the player is a much bigger impact than the piddling cost that could possible hit you.

Not to mention, they wouldn't wait for Vereen but they decided to wait for Leon.

Can you explain what you mean by they wouldn't wait for Vereen?
