Titans "More Aggressive" than Patriots For Hopkins

There will be a lot of disappointment on this board when Dhop announces he is signing with another team. However, it has been very predictable all along (He said earlier in the year he did not really want to play for the Patriots). Nothing has changed.
As I mentioned previously, I do not believe he would make the patriots a playoff team or a serious AFC contender.

However, it's a bad PR hit for Pats to be so tight with the spending. The talent level is mediocre to poor on this roster. Hard to believe they could not find any worthy UFA (other than Schuster) to make their depth chart a bit more formidable. Bill went bargain bin shopping once again (for Reiff and Anderson) and the team will pay for it.
So they were one bonehead play away from being a playoff team last year. Or if you like, one ridiculously bad out of bounds call away. Thats with an inept OC and 2 flame-out FAs at WR and TE.

And you think with the upgrades they have made in these places they can't be a playoff team?

Oh, my mistake - I used the words "you think" with you.

My 10-year-old son thinks he should sign with the Dolphins. Not gonna happen but imagine trying to stop that receiving corps of Hopkins, Hill, and Waddle .

Well if hes a Dolphin fan then that would be a pretty awesome signing, but as a Pats fan that is nightmare fuel

So it's about the money with D-hop. Top bid too him wins, seems simple.

Hopkins is playing games and waiting for a better deal. Tell him to take a hike a Bill.

Word is that the Patriots have made a contract offer to Hopkins. It will be interesting to see if he takes it.

Definitely a historically great wide receiver, but he'll be 31 this year and hasn't played more than 10 games in a season or broken 750 receiving yards in a season since 2020...

This. He is so playing the Patriots. Will make BB look foolish when he signs with chiefs. He NEVER wanted to play for Patriots.
Pull the offer now and maintain dignity!!!!!

How does anyone/any team look foolish or lose dignity by letting a free agency scenario play out? Regardless, I would hope that the GM of my team wouldn't make decisions based on the fear of "looking foolish".

What dignity do you gain by pulling an offer versus just having it rejected?
He was never going to sign with Pats. He knew it , chiefs knew it. His “visit” to pats was a PR stunt orchestrated by Pats and Dhops agent.
Pats look like Charlie Brown with football being pulled away by Lucy.
Puts an exclamation point on no playmakers want to play with Mac or Pats.
Sad but true

thought they already offered him a contract when he came to the stadium, and we've just been waiting for him to make his decision or for a team to budge and up their price

Have a source? Did we increase our initial offer, or was there never an initial offer?
At this point the way I feel.. d hop is great and definitely would help this offense..

However camp is next week and I would have liked him to sign by now..

So I'm focusing on the guys we do have.. we have enough to compete!

With idiotic fans like you why would he?

He was suspended last season. He wasn’t injured. And Kyler Murray was out for a large part of his time last year.

So the Patriots willingly participated in a publicity stunt that would make themselves look foolish? Wow.

doesnt matter if he signs 30 seconds before camp, he wont be any more behind/ahead than he is now

still time for them to make a competitive decision for this franchise

If they dont make a move on him, and then go like 7-9... that is absolutely disgusting

we'll see

I just assumed he wasn't coming here the minute he left without signing a deal. He's looking for money and whoever is going to pay the most is getting him, and Bill isn't interested in that.

Someone needs to explain the fact Kraft said he’s not afraid to spend money.

It’s not Bills money why is he so stringent with it.

It's just beginning to be a d hop gong show.. I love his game and I want him here.. but the closer we get to camp the less likely I feel he will sign.. veterans hate camp.. I'm sure they'll avoid it if they can.. I don't think they will have a loosing season again.. I believe they'll be much more competitive. As you said we'll see though
