Baltimore is fighting for their play off spot and winning games, four in a row.

If the Patriots lose, that's the season. For the first time since 2008, I'll basically have no hope. I'll always know #12 can overcome everything, just not team mates that can't catch perfect passes, and if we lose, my crystal ball says that'll be the reason why.

We would lose the #2 seed, we would have to go on the road, and Baltimore would be riding the team-of-destiny wave to the Winterbowl at Metlife.
(A game that they, like us, can beat anyone in)

The season would just be over. Let's face it. If Baltimore beats us, it's over, and we just wait to see how it eventually ends.

On the flip side, if the Patriots rally after the Miami screwing by crushing Baltimore's post season hopes with a strong road win, I'll be back to really impressed, which is how I've felt about the team all season long.

The winner of this game is going to be the team nobody in the AFC wants any part of. I really believe the winner of Patriots v Ravens is going to start rolling and peaking going into the post season. I've never made a guarantee since one blew up in my face at 18-1, and I'm not making one now, but I have a strong instinct that the winner of this game is going the distance.

One way or another, this game on Sunday defines our season.

How is that the season when they have 1 game left this year and will 90% still win division?

We wouldn't know if we lost the #2 seed becasue Cincy can still lose as they play balt last game of year

I think for all the right reasons it would be best if they win against the Ravens. But, it's not over unless they also lose to Buffalo and then you never know what happens in the Playoffs.

do they seem like locks for the post season...mostly yes.
do they seem to be the superbowl favorites, not with this team, but that doesn't mean I want them to lose either and will still say this was a damn exciting season. And, proud of they way they came together...only lament would be the injuries to so many key players, but 30 other teams will also have no shot at the Superbowl come February (and that doesn't make it was a bad year).

You say you'll have no hope if they lose and then in the next paragraph down say Baltimore, like the Patriots, can beat anyone in the Super Bowl? How is this possible???

If we can't beat Baltimore, and drop two L's in a row to limp into the play offs, we're not going through the gauntlet. Every week this season it's been a new trial and tribulation, and guys get injured, and Belichick patches it up, and Brady masks the weakness, and we win in the final seconds of the game.

Brady got the ball to his receiver in the endzone more than once against the Dolphins. Receivers didn't get it done. If we go into Baltimore and it's more of that, and nobody but Brady is making plays, and our offensive line is crumbling like paper, I suggest you brace yourself for the 2009-2010 post season experience.

Again, on the other hand, if we win, AFC beware.

Have to get there first. If the Patriots were to make it past the AFC Championship they would have a distinct and very real cold weather advantage over a lot of potential opponents.

But if you can't get there that hardly matters.

Utter nonsense!

We are highly likely to be the division winners at 11-5, the same result that most of us predicted months ago. We could even make the playoffs at 10-6.

This game does NOT in any way define the season.

As far as this game, we are road underdogs. Obviously, we all want us to win, and we certainly have a good shot. But if we lose, we come home to play Biffalo, and then (very likely) wait and host a home playoff game or two.

If Dobson and Thompkins play in the game I like our chances. Adding those two guys to Edelman and Amendola will be huge. Looking for Vereen to break out also after a quiet week last week.

Defensively I think we will be fine against their offense, my biggest worry is Pitta and ****son underneath.

ST will also be huge. Jacoby Jones can single handedly turn a game around on a KR. Ghost really has to have his heavy foot on all kickoffs to force touch backs.

no matter what happens, I'll still be a rabid Patriots fan and God willing, will go to Miami again next season for the revenge game. By that time half this board will probably have migrated to Jets Insider, seeing as how they hate everything Belichick does and lust for the "tough guy" image that fat degenerate,Cryan, falsely portrays.

No, this game is not "basically" the season, unless I misunderstand what you mean by "basically.". Is it important? Yes. Is it critical? No, unless week 17 gets canceled and/or every other AFC contender wins out and NE loses. If Baltimore wins Sunday, will you stop watching?

No, but if we lose, I won't hold my breath for us to suddenly turn into the kind of team that would of won once the play offs start.

Sorry, I have no idea what that means. And I'm not intending to be sarcastic or critical by saying that.

I agree;
I like our odds at home as the #2 seed
I think we can win at home in the AFC championship or on the road in Denver.
I think we can win in the superbowl in NY against Seattle if the weather is on our side (snowing).

I think if we have to win 1 home game and 2 road games to get to the superbowl, I would be shocked to see it happen.

some teams who disagree with your opinion:

2012 Ravens: 10-6 in regular season. Lost 4 out of the last 5 regular season games. Had 4th seed AFC team in playoffs. Won Superbowl

2011 Giants. 9-7 in regular season. 3-5 in 2nd half of regular season. 4th seed in NFC. Won Superbowl

2010 Packers. 10-6 regular season. 2-2 last 4 regular season games. 6th seed in NFC. Won Superbowl.

2008 Cardinals. 9-7 regular season. 2-4 last 6 regular season games. 4th seed in NFC. Lost Superbowl.

Get into the tourney. At this point, that's all I want. Let the rest fall as it may.

If I remember correctly, last season the Broncos destroyed the Ravens in the final few games. Then we all know what happened.

I don't think the season is over if we lose. Key players are starting to get healthy at the right time. I think this team has a long playoff run in them.

A win in December is no different than a win in October.

The Giants last Super Bowl victory shows that all this win and lose talk is just a bunch of rubbish. We're not 10-4 because we have a propensity to lose multiple games in a row.

Christ some of you are in a hurry to throw yourself off a cliff. It must be weird to find solace in disappointment. I figure you must be the types who like to be chained up and have cigarettes burned on your skin and have women spit down your throat after drinking a lot of sour milk.

Jesus...just last year the Ravens won their division and then went on the road for the next two games, remember how that turned out?

Or the Giants in 2007 or 2011?

Have some ******* faith.

The ones that do are called homers . It is either love ******ing about how we suck or having faith and called a homer.
