he probably made the alert call usually by yelling Peter to alert other players of the punt. If 26 had touched it and Denver recovered it they would have gained possession.

Wes Welker during the overtime game against Denver in 2013 made an error by making the call too late, the punt hit Tony Carter, the Patriots recovered, and were able to kick a game winning field goal. Securing a 24 point comeback against the record breaking offense of the Donkeys.

It's all part of #integrity. The kleptocracy running/rigging the league want to keep every game as close as possible... especially the marquee games. All this to make more money at the expense of fair play.
