By the way, I love hearing a hybrid German/Texan accent.

It's pretty different from what my late aunt had; my family doesn't have the strongly nasal accents that younger generations of Germans do. But it's still kind of cool. I'm going to root for this guy.

Sounds like Vollmer is a smart guy who was rising before the draft after good showings at his pro day and the East-West Shrine game.

Sigmund Bloom likes Sebastian Vollmer

He was on my list of mid round picks. He had back surgery in 06 and missed the year so I was reluctant to move him higher. What impressed me most about him was that he improved a lot between 2007 and 2008.
