Death by a thousand cuts.

Would it be fair to say we'll hear the veteran cuts today and the rookie cuts tomorrow from the team?

I'd imagine they'll try to get as much out of the way as quickly as possible. There may be another move they want to make, either via another team's cuts or a trade.

I once laid off 30 people in 5 days.
Only difference is they got severance packages and extended benefits.

These kids get a plane ticket. Maybe not even that.

You monster.

Plus, they usuallly do vets the solid by releasing them early so they might be able to catch on with another team.

Not necessarily.

For one thing, the people tweeting about the cuts are using different unofficial sources, and they're likely to each get information/rumors in a somewhat different order. And there's often some lag time between transaction filing and unofficial info, and between unofficial info and tweet.

Another factor is that if there's a veteran on the roster who's part of a trade proposal, the trade may not be executed/filed until way later today or tomorrow. The last few cuts we may not even hear about until after the 4pm deadline tomorrow (although they will have been filed on time).

tough blow for garcia. but its the jets so its a blesing for him. hope he finds a new home.
He probably won't...

1 - To be released so soon, he most likely falls into the "Not a hard decision" type of cut.

2 - The Jets have NO ONE at O-L.

Very bad signs

I feel for you. It sucks anytime I have to let someone go, even when they deserve it.
It does. I got shot once. I was ok with it. I was miserable. I've had the, "Y'know, I needed a new start anyway." comments. It made me feel better

If I'm the Donks and Keenum sucks, I'm trying Kelly.

Ravens may now be in the market for a competent reserve CB.

Watched the Saints game last night

Austin Carr will probably be cut by the Saints. Do we want to steal him back? By all accounts he was great in practice, but just not enough balls to go around during preseason.

Tom Savage won't make the team, but they may attempt to trade him rather than cut him. I don't know if he's better than Hoyer though.

And FWIW, Shane Vereen probably won't make the cut either.

Yea I've done a few of those now and you never get numb to it.

I do believe BB hates doing it but like us it's a crappy part of the job that must be done.
The day firing people doesn't bother you is the day you've lost your humanity....... (it's easier sometimes if they deserve to get fired but it still should bother you)
