The Official NFL Cut Thread

Eh, we will see. McCourty’s contract might make him expendable. I’ll believe Richards is cut when I see it. Guy is harder to kill than a roach.
No kidding. If an asteroid hit the earth only roaches, mice and Jordan Richards survive.

I wonder if they can redo Jason's deal?

Maye looked better than Lucien last night. More desire. Does he stay, get cut, or go PS?

I thought he might make the PS last season. Decent athleticism and route-running; willing and capable blocker. He seemed to be the most competent among the camp-body types back then, too.

I once laid off 30 people in 5 days.
Only difference is they got severance packages and extended benefits.

These kids get a plane ticket. Maybe not even that.
Been there too. Learned about my own humanity in the process. Of the 9 people I had to let go, 2 were candidates for termination under normal circumstances. They both were on 30 day probation and still not complying. I even felt sorry for them. It was the worst day of my career...until the next day, and the VP packaged me.

He or she just needed you to swing the axe. Made his or her life easier in the process. Hopefully you had some choice words on your way out the door. That's a gutless coward thing to do.

I see Jason over Richards.

But Jason has been playing free safety, right? And that’s the bigger problem here; if Chung goes down, then what? Devin and Harmon really aren’t built for that role. Richards and Ebner are the only guys who currently can “play” it, and the Pats seem to have given up on Ebner altogether on defense. If they keep Jason over Richards, I’m guessing if Chung goes down that we may seeing more 3 LB sets, with Marquis Flowers taking on some of what Chung does. If he even makes the team..... Will be interesting to see if that’s the direction they take.

Sadly that’s not uncommon. A comparable thing just happened with my client, a very large company.

Yea I've done a few of those now and you never get numb to it.

I do believe BB hates doing it but like us it's a crappy part of the job that must be done.

Yea I really don't know what they'll do here. They might bring someone in from the outside. I'm just going by the principal that they will keep the best 53 players that they think will bring the most value and production. If they have an overstock at one position (like DT) they may look to trade the player for a pick/player that they need.

I know Jason is an older player than Richards but I do believe he is a better one which is why if it came down to those two, I'd take Jason.

My problem with Richards is when hes in there, he stinks and its not like hes improving. Hes plateaued so keeping him just because he backs up SS doesn't make sense to me.

I cannot see my current boss ever doing that to me so perhaps I'm lucky. Although you don't truly know someone's real colors until the chips are down, so to speak.

Would it be fair to say we'll hear the veteran cuts today and the rookie cuts tomorrow from the team?
