Interesting list, if i'm not mistaken most were players pat fans wanted to address the pass rush in previous drafts but Belichik deemed other players and positions more worthy over them. Maybe Belichik is right to take players with higher grades over the binkies of Patriot fans?

Just curious---What were you saying about the McCourty pick last draft?

Deus, i do appreciate the links but don't have time to go through 25 page threads trying to find your posts, and in fact have to take off immediately. from what i can tell you didn't like it but wanted to see what they did the rest of the draft before reaching final judgement, and while you may have amended that later they didn't address the pass rush so i'd guess your position couldn't have changed too much.

Clarify it if I'm off base and i'll get back to this later. I understand the desire for a pass rusher and said wtf as they were picking, but having given it thought believe sticking to their draft philosophy is the most important thing for the long term, as that is how they end up as one of the best teams in football year after year after year after year.

It's 4 links to individual posts. I'm not going to clutter up this thread by reposting them all here, so here's a quick summary. I didn't like the pick in isolation because, while I thought they had a need at DB, I thought DE/OLB was a bigger one. After day 2 was over, and we'd gotten a chance to see the pick in more context, I was fine with it. I liked the draft overall, but I didn't like that they didn't deal with the DE problem.
