The MVP race

By the definition of MVP it should be the most valuable.

Who provided the most value to his team?

You can make the case that Stanford is having the better year, but swap rosters with Maye getting the Rams roster and Stafford getting the Pats roster and which team is doing better?

Would Stafford have the Pats 9-2?
Or if each team used their backup QB what are their records?

Does Dobbs have the Pats at 9-2, or even close?

There is an Offensive Player of the Year Award for the best offensive season, MVP is what it refers to, the " Most Valuable" player, which as of today appears to be Drake Maye. As good as the rest of the team has played this season, their wins have been dependent upon Maye.

I wonder what Joe Milton is thinking right about now?

I would love to revisit those threads right now. I especially remember the post stating how angry they were going to be if Milton won the MVP this season, but I can't recall who said it?

What no nomination for J Briskett?

Right now Maye is on pace for 3,800 passing yards and 27 TDs. The real impressive part is his efficiency with a 71.9% completion rate paired with 8.9 YPA. He's accurate AND he pushes the ball down field. The problem is that this is first time he has entered the conversation for the MVP award so I doubt he gets it.

Stafford has been around the league longer and will probably win it over him because longer reputation. Stafford has put up less overall passing yards, 2400 vs Maye's 2800, but more TDs. 25 to Maye's 20 at the moment.

Let's also not forget the voters are strongly biased against the Patriots and Patriot legends. I still have no idea how Brady lost the MVP to Rogers in 2021 when he put up 5,316 yards passing 43 TDs and 67.5% completion percentage. TB12 put up 1,200 more passing yards and 6 more passing TDs than Rogers. And it's not like Brady wasn't throwing downfield 7.4 YPA versus Roger's 7.7. So the voting is extremely biased. Sometimes the most deserving player does NOT win the MVP award.

FYI, Rams had a bye week already, and Stafford has 2,557/27TD/2INT (with one less game) to Maye's 2,836/20TD/5INT.

How many games would the colts have without Taylor?

I find myself not caring in the slightest whether Maye wins league MVP -- an individual award in the ultimate TEAM sport. What I do care about is him leading the Patriots to wins, hopefully into the playoffs.

Things have been so peachy, I completely forgot about Milton haha

Allen wrench thrown in

I feel for Randy Moss too seems so unfair based on how Great he was.
At least he played in 2 Super Bowls. Sanders and Megatron never got within sniffing distance of one.

Very interesting stat fir those that argue the legitimacy of what Maye has done based on the record of their opponents.

While the combined records of New England’s opponents are starting to cause people to doubt the legitimacy of this run, consider this: the Patriots have the No. 1 defensive strength of schedule in the NFL to date."

Subjective frivolous award. Giving the clown media some sense of importance. Maye will not win this anytime soon regardless of his stats.
