Since we almost never have more than a rookie or two starting for this team in the past, I really wonder what type of factor the Monday Night Experience will have for our rookies.

A year ago about a 1/4 of this defense was probably watching the Pats under the bright lights on TV with millions of other people watching, now they are on stage in the biggest event in the NFL other than the playoffs.

How the rookies handle the hollywood type affair could have an effect on the game's outcome - hopefully a few at least will play hard and tight and show thier skills and not be affected by the excitement of thier first national primetime game.

Alot of these guys were here last year when we got whooped by the Saints, they know they have to play hard and I expect them to, rookies will be challenged regardless of the stage because the NFL is a serious league, if you don't bring it then anyone can take advantage.

I know a lot of folks here have lost confidence in our Coaching staff, but I think we can assume they'll address this with the younger guys...it would be nice if a couple of the veterans like Big Vince and Tommy tried to calm them down a bit as well. Probably at times like this that we most miss the leadership of a Vrabel or Brewski or Rodney in the lockerroom...

Which is why I have a strong feeling we will win tonight.

If I were BB, I would have shown the whole team the entire Saints game from last year and tell them "This is your next MNF. Do you want to go through the same embarrassment again?"

That will fire up the team.

The bright lights affect everyone differently, regardless of experience. Some guys elevate their play because they're amped up, some guys are crushed under the pressure, and some guys just aren't affected at all and play about how you'd expect them.

With rookies, the only difference is we don't know which group they're in yet (and won't even after this, since it's one game). They're an unknown that will be interesting to watch.

I wonder if Arrington or Butler is going to start at corner?

Butler needs another game to prove himself,he did have a horrible game 2 weeks ago and needs to redeem himself

If you shelve a guy like Butler off starting at corner too long it only hurts confidence even more,he needs to go through the lumps and pains of being inexperienced and learn from his mistakes like any human

I personally think Butler will be a good pro

As a fan I love the feel of a MNF game. To me they are the best regular season games and often the most fun to watch. I feel pumped up about the game all day long. Each time the Pats have a MNF game that day has a special feel. I hope the rookies feel the same and respond well.

Hell, They should be excited for this game. Being on such a large stage should only energize them.

They're professionals who are watched by millions every week. I'd hope that being on MNF wouldn't affect them too much. Never know, though... either way, I'm not too worried about youth-related mistakes at this point in the D's development. If they happen they happen, if not then that's a pleasant surprise.
