Hey dummy, the QB signals were already being sent via headset in 2001. There were no offensive signals to tape.
Hence, why Bill was taping DEFENSIVE signals, and those signals were for the benefit of the offense.
Yeah Brady benefited so much from knowing defensive signals that he scored one touchdown in SB 36. As many touchdowns as were scored by the Pats defense.
Do better.
So what about the 2003 and 2004 playoffs?
You might want to invest in a dictionary. A loophole means something that is within the rules.
Do better.
There was no loophole when it came to taping a team's signals. Ray Anderson clarified that in 2006 and Goodell said it was a major violation.
“This episode represents a calculated and deliberate attempt to avoid longstanding rules designed to encourage fair play and promote honest competition on the playing field,” Commissioner Roger Goodell wrote in a letter to the Patriots.
Calculated = on purpose
Longstanding = in place for a long time
Now, we're going to circle back to the jealous owners and league officials who used to be former Jets who were all trying to go after the Pats in a grand conspiracy! Or how about, 31 other teams were doing it too!
