Where were all the Pats fans when the team was 5-11 in 2000? Where were all of you then? Sitting home eating cheetos not knowing that you had a football team. You don't suffer through miserable seasons like Jet fans because you're not a loyal fanbase. Same with the Bruins when they started playing well. And the Red Sox. And the Celtics. Yes, those three teams have loyal fanbases (with a lot of bandwagon jumpers, though) Yes, you do have SOME true fans but as soon as things go south for the organization you'll go support the next winning team to come along. Yes, the Jet bandwagon has some crowds these days. That's not a bad thing. But New England is a baseball region. It always has and will be. You people latched on to your precious Patsies when they started winning, and you all know that's the truth. So you can say all you want that the Jets suck. It's not true and I think you all know that. Attendance rose with the teams winning percentage, while at the same time, the Jets, mired in misery, had a twenty year long waiting list for season tickets.

In short, do the Patriots suck? No. Do the Jets suck? YES

Back in 2000 us decades long fans were jacked and pumped because Bill Belichick, defensive genius, quit his job as HC of the NYJ to come here kick ass and take names.

In case you newbie JETS fans missed it, this franchise has been sold out solid since the mid 90s whan Bob Kraft bought it.

Oh and further back, the Pats went to the SB in the 1980s. The JETS went once, back before the moon landings you read about in history.

So the guy who's making that "disrespect" thread got called out by Pherein. Congrats to Pherein for standing tall but, obviously, "Titan" was never really interested in an honest discussion.

I called Pherin out because he would come on to the Jets forums and talk about how great we were and then come on here and do the opposite (at least that's how I interpreted his posts). Should I have let it get to me. No! In fact I apologize for it. As for this forum, it has been the most disrepsectful of the several I've been on this off season. I was sincerely disapointed with that. I've always disliked the Dolphins more than the Patriots, and I'm in the minority in that regard as a Jets fan. In the beginning I didn't let the constant Jets bashing get to me but in the end I think I lost the temperment battle, and made some poor decisions. I stand by what I've always said on here. You guys spend a lot of time talking about the Jets and it's clear you're taking us more seriously. If you're not, then you're foolish. I'm not interested in what the Patriots accomplished in the past. It makes no diffrerence to the outcome of this upcoming season. And that coach you made up all the jokes about may not represent the older stereotype of what a coach should be, bue he is the coach the players want to have. He's honest, stands up for his team, says what he believes and has earned the respect of many a fan and player. Jets fans haven't had a lot to hang their hats on over the last few decades, so it's no surprise that a lot of them are overly optimistic. This appears to be the best chance we've had in a long time.

Act as you will, but don't pretend it was anything more than it was. You've come to a Patriots site and gotten worked up over a fun thread because it makes fun of your beloved Jets. In your butthurt, you made a silly post on your own site and were discovered doing so. You called Pherein out because you were caught with your hand in the cookie jar and didn't want to admit that you'd been behaving badly. Instead, you chose to attack someone who called you on that behavior.

As for this forum, and let me state it again...

This thread is titled "The Jets Suck". It was not likely to be a love-fest for that New Jersey team. Gunnails has been able to take it in stride. You're a moderator, yet you couldn't handle it. That says something about you, not Pherein or anyone here.

First, disagreeing with your overinflated opinion of your team is not disrespect.
Secondly, Ryan has not earned anyones respect, he has bought it by making clains that he must back up. If the Jets are 6-10 this year, did he really earn anyone's respect? No he simply created expectations he couldnt deliver on.
There is an enormous differnence.
Thats the problem I have with Ryan and Jet fans. You are essentially telling everyone to treat you like you are SB Champions, and think not doing so is disrespect. You have to have the accomplishment completed before expecting people to treat you like you have accomplished it.

Your coach has decided that being a media whore is good for your team. that is why your team has become the butt of jokes around the league. You don't read many threads about players being criticized ... mostly your coach and the fans who suck it all up. Your good players get positive writings here in our forum.

You can get mad at us and everyone else ... but your coach has put your team in an almost unwinnable position. It's the Super Bowl or nothing for you guys and he's made it that way.

Who wouldn't want a coach who spends his time coaching and avoids the media as much as possible?

When was the last time a team with a media whore coach won the Super Bowl?

What team in all sports wins with a coach or owner who is an azzclown?

Isn't it supposed to be about the players?

You REALLY need to understand something: We all take the Green Beans seriously as an opponent on the field of play. Only a fool wouldn't; hell, they beat the Pats once last year. What we don't take seriously is all the hype, bluster and nonsense coming out of everyone's mouth down there, and the way the organization/fan base conduct themselves in general. THAT is why the 'Beans suck. Nobody here thinks they'll be a pushover, or that they won't challenge for the division. We just think they're on very shaky ground as an organization and stand a good chance of seeing everything blow up in their faces (fans included). Now do you get it?

Well, I'll agree that we've sucked in the past. But I'd be less inclined to believe that we will suck this year. I'm not inclined to believe that we are Super Bowl contenders either but I'm at least hoping for playoffs. Who knows with the Jets. Been a fan since 91, and have more reason to be pessimistic than optimistic.

There's nothing wrong with this thread. It's not like my board doesn't talk bad about you guys. It's part of being a fan. I just hit the ignore button on less than friendly members like Tunescribe.

Yeah, talking to the Chargers fans out here has been interesting. The general perception, even among the guys that give me tons of crap for being a Pats fan, is that at least the Pats a) win before they talk, and b) still don't talk. Seriously guys, the Jets are ambassadors for the Pats, in a way: putting up with them is making third-party fans realize that the Pats really weren't that bad.

It's especially funny because, talking to those same Chargers fans, they're mad at their team for punking out in the playoffs, but doubly mad because it was to the Jets.
