The Jets suck (merged)

By your standards, you need to wait until Sanchez becomes god to be vocal on Internet forums. Please do us all that favor.

Hmmm, not sure how you come up with that conclusion. I said nothing about Pats fans not being vocal for their team. I questioned how vocal one poster was before the Pats were good. That's a long jump to Sanchez being a god before speaking...but thanks for your insight.

Yes, and before recent history, the Pats were even more inept than the Jets were. How easily you forget.

This is neither fair nor true.

60's Patriots:

9-4-91
9-4-1
10-3-1
8-4-2

60's Jets:

8-5
11-3
10-4

Patriots had more good years. Jets Best year was a Super Bowl win. Patriots "bad" years were worse than Jets "bad years"

Advantage Jets

70's Patriots:

11-3
9-5
11-5
9-7
10-6

70's Jets

Best record was .500

Patriots were clearly the better team in the 70's.

80's Patriots:

9-7
11-5
11-5
8-7
9-7

80's Jets:

10-5
11-5
10-6
8-7

Patriots had more good years and got to the Super Bowl. Patriots did have 1982 and 1990, but the Super Bowl visit overshadows that. Advantage Patriots

90's Patriots:

10-6
11-5
10-6
9-7

90's Jets:

9-7
12-4
9-7

Patriots have more good years and get to another Super Bowl

Advantage Patriots.

If you take away Namath's Super Bowl win, every decade would go to the Patriots. With that win, it's Patriots taking 3 of 4 decades.

It's okay; I didn't expect you to get it.

Would you be nice enough to give us 10 ways that the Jets have improved since they were 7-7 and all but mathematically eliminated from the playoffs? Thanks.

I don't respect that, because I'm sure you have contributed to the most arrogant fan base in sports. Which is funny because you guys have absolutely nothing to be arrogant about.

Great, you don't respect fans that stick with teams regardless of how they perform. I'm sure you've been a Pats fan for less than 10 years then, congratulations.

I do think it is funny that Pats and Jets fans see each other as the worst fan bases. Again, a sign of the compassion. I think there are *******s on both sides. I've never been anything but a fan of the team. I enjoy the sport. Online chat boards have just given the opportunity to learn more about the game and unfortunately has also given bravado to people who would not have it in an in-person conversation.

Excellent analysis. I stand corrected. And I appreciate you doing the leg work.

Seems like you are a bigtime contributor here. Your comments are incredibly insightful as well. Thank you.

Born and raised in NH, wearing a Pats jersey in a family photo when I was 4. Its been Pats ever since. Usually I'll just say piss off to someone who questions my fanhood.

I have yet to meet a tolerable Jets fan in my life. There are very few in your fan base that are level headed.

Nah, I'm just a busy guy. I don't see how me having to work makes me any less of a contributor.

Thanks for your 0 reasons though. I'll assume that the Jets are a 7-7 team that needs to be handed the last 2 games to have any chance of making the playoffs.

Change it to Not Easy Being Braindead...NEBB

Yes, and before recent history, the Pats were even more inept than the Jets were. How easily you forget.

Super Bowl appearances since 1970

Patriots ...SIX

Jets...uh...heh...heh heh

Lay off the LSD Flakes at breakfast and run to the shrink and get him to prescribe Haldol in mass quantities...YOU are the most delusional poster to ever scribble inanities in Patsfans.com history

Yes, I am sure that I am the most delusional poster EVER on here. Mr Bravado, let's yuck it up for my boys. Actually I have contributed mostly rational and respectful posts here. I ahven't tried to recreate history. I am well aware of the poor record the Jets have had, very well aware. This all started with me discussing my hope for seasons to come. Call me delusional, I am hopeful for my team. Why don't you take the meds and learn something from your colleagues who have actually posted something substantial?

No, I just chose to ignore you because you didn't really contribute to the conversation. I answered your question in a previous post.

It seems like NEBG's operating procedure is to come on board, make a few comments without merit or solid foundations, get into slanging matches with some fans and then congratulate those fans appearing to be a rational and logical poster when those same fans show him that his initial comment was baseless and without merit.. like what was originally said.

These are the most annoying opposition posters. Make ridiculous comment without bothering to research first. Meh.. the Jets suck.

Ok aus....I did actually state why I had hope for the future, in several posts. You, instead chose to focus mostly on the past. The slanging match was between you and I for a few posts, and then I got into discussion. Clearly it was interesting enough to other posters to continue the discussion.

Please summarize. I skimmed through all of your posts in this thread and saw that you are a fan of Rex's and that you expect Sanchez to be elite. Anything else that I missed?

It was more of a tongue-in-cheeck questioning. I figured you were a longer time fan. The point was you said I should be embarrassed to be a Jets fan. My response is what choice do I have. It makes me a worse fan to turn my back when they are not good. It also means that I have earned the right to be excited and hopeful when they show some promise.

Again, tough to show on a chat board. But, I would consider myself to be both an avid Jets fan and a tolearble person. I get passionate about my team, but I've always respected fans from other teams no matter where I have met them. Chat boards seem to be a bit different. And I am quicker to start or react to name calling than I am in the "real" world. But, I do try to keep it civil here if possible.

That would be fine.. had that been isolated to just me. Don't bother with the clandestine troll approach. There's plenty of opposition supporters that engage this board in a very different manner. We see you for what you are.

I mentioned coaching and player talent in several posts. More specifically, in terms of why I think the Jets will be good THIS coming season. The D is stacked and should again be #1 in the league again. Please feel free to argue that. I'm sure you'll argue the FACT that the Jets were the best D in the league last year. They got stronger this year with the addition of Cromartie (yes he is better than anyone who played #2 cb last year) and Wilson (yes, he is a rookie, but I think he will be a good one, time will tell), I think Taylor adds a pass rush where the Jets did not have one last year (I'm really not sure how good he will be, but he should be an improvement. As to the offense, that is a bit more of a wildcard. I'm not thrilled with the loss of TJ, Faneca, or Washington. I do think that Greene can replace TJs production well, but TJ was a leader and that is not easily replaced. I hated seeing Washington go. He brought game-breaking ability that is very hard to replace. But, I'm really not sure what his leg would have been like this year. I like LT and hope he has something left (we'll see), but I would not have swamped him for TJ. I don't think the Oline is as good without Faneca, but he is on the decline. Hopefully one of the other guys step up. Overall, I thnk the #1 rushing game in the league takes a step back, but not a significant one. Hopefully, and I do think realistically, that step back is countered with a much-improved WR corp. Hines, even with a 4-game suspension, clearly adds a lot. Cotch is solid, and if Edwards can find his hands, that is a solid group there. Sanchez should be better. I emphasize should, because we all know that the 2nd year is not always easy for a QB. But, I think (maybe some hope in there) he will be better. Specials are a wash in my opinion. Last year specials were not a strength for the Jets as they typically have been in recent years past. So, overall, I think this is an improved team over the one that fared well in the playoffs last year. This leads to my optomism.

Ok aus, I mean we. As I stated before, I actually have a long history on the board, even with limited posts. I have not had problems engaging in reasonable discussions with people here in the past. If you choose not to go down that path, that is your perogative. Just as bad as trolling is lumping someone into a bucket with folks that just comem here to flame and don't have a discussion. As it pertains to you and me, you started the negativity. I'm the one that made the attempts to make it civil. You have chosen to keep on pecking away...let's just keep the record straight on that.

Your whole argument is shoulda coulda woulda and basically what you hope happens. If's If's and more If's. We alll saw how that "#1" defense disappear for games at a time.

You think Taylor can still add a pass rush. Just proves your delusion.

You do realize Hines Ward plays for Pitt right?

At this stage of the off season, all any fan can say is if's and hopes. You don't know how Welker is going to respond. You don't know how your line will be if Mankins is gone. You don't know how your new young talent will contribute. It's the same argument.

I said I hope that Taylor will contribute. And, yes, I think he contributes more than what the Jets had last year, which was almost non-existant.
