The reality is to perform long term you need a sound team with an all star Quarterback. The Colts have Manning and the Patriots have Brady. I just can't see Sanchez ever being in this group.
I missed this part of your post. Why is it you can't see Sanchez in that group? Because he was a rookie with 16 games of college experience under his belt last year? I'm sure you were calling for Brady and expecting him to be great when he was riding the pine behind Bledsoe. had Mo Lewis not collapsed Drew's lung, you may have never found out how good he could be. It's quite possible, even likely, that he may not have played that season and have been off the Pats the following season. He may have ended up being a star for some other team, or perhaps not made it big in another system. That's how things work sometimes.
The reality is that Sanchez actually has most, if not all, of the physical attributes to be a great QB and he certainly has the leadership and intelligence intangibles that you need to have to be great. With more experience he should be very good if not great. Like most of our other debates in this thread, only time will tell. But, it is truely foolish to predict his future career based on his inconsistent season last season. In fact, I'm not sure how much more we'll be able to tell after this season. But, we should have an answer within the next few years.
