These NFL owners have ZERO allegiance and are so greedy. The Chiefs ownership took the money and have left the state. The stadium is literally minutes over the border but still. It will be a multi purpose DOMED stadium.

I looked up the history of Super Bowl winning teams whose homefield was a domed stadium. It's TWO teams Colts X2, Rams X2. Let me know if I missed any. Good luck to the Chiefs LOL.

The title should really be "The Chiefs are moving to Kansas City".

Although I think technically the new stadium isn't going to be in the other Kansas City.

The citizens in Missouri did the right thing by voting against a taxpayer funded stadium.

The Chiefs and Royals made the correct business decision to accept an offer to move a few miles away.

In both cases the parties involved - citizens of Missouri and business owners - had appropriate priorities, in my opinion.

I question the use of the word 'appropriate' In my opinion, a team owner's 'appropriate' priority should be serving the fans. These owners are not hurting for money. The Hunt family has an estimated wealth of nearly 25 BILLION. Selling the Chiefs would gross 6-7 BILLION. Considering that they only cost about 275,000 in today's money (25,000 in 1960), that is a TWO MILLION PERCENT return.

They are not hurting for money.

By comparison...

Whatever you want to say about Kraft, dude put his money where his mouth was. He wanted to keep the team in Massachusetts. I admit to not knowing the complete timeline, but if he was SERIOUS about moving the team and making more money for himself in the process, he could have done so eventually. I mean, my stupid state (Connecticut) was giving him stupid amounts of money to come here. Yet, Kraft used this as leverage to...accept a worse deal in Foxboro. Paying for the stadium himself, and the state only paying for (debatable as they turned out to be) improvements to the surrounding infrastructure.

EDIT: Looking at what I found so far, it looks like Kraft was a pain in the butt to work with when it came time to move anywhere but Massachusetts. Both the Providence and Hartford projects left each state feeling used. I don't even know how serious he was about even moving to Boston, as his self-funded stadium there was 'leaked' to the press. This led to an upset mayor and governor, which leads me to believe Kraft was the source of the leak.

Baloney Bob performed the exact same maneuver to get what he wanted when he was ready to pack up and move to Hartford.

Manufactured drama. That's all this is at this juncture. Chiefs owner Clark Hunt is using KS Governor Laura Kelly to get what he wants from MO. Kelly swallowed the whole hook and fishing pole because she has been a failure and this is her finest accomplishment since redesigning the states new license plates. I'm serious.

Now, watch state of MO and KCMO in panic mode step up and offer the Chiefs a deal that they cant pass up.

MO has already lost 2 NFL teams and they cannot afford to lose the Chiefs.

That will be built at the same location as Arrowhead after the dust settles.

The KC Royals baseball team is moving to KS. They own the mortgages for the now empty Sprint campus. Why would an MLB do that?

Bigger than location is kc giving up the weather advantage should they host playoff games with the domed stadium.
To host a Super Bowl, NFL criteria states that the stadium must have a roof in cold climates.

It will be retractable

.

The Chiefs are leaving Kansas city Missouri for a city in Kansas. That whole scenario of naming a city Kansas in Missouri always sounded like inbreeding. If it is not in a city anymore are they just the Kansas Chiefs? Or the Kansas town Chiefs?
The proposed Chiefs stadium is supposedly being built in Kansas City, KS (Wyandotte, County) The location is where the Sporting KC soccer team plays now and the site of the NASCAR track.

The Chiefs headquarters, practice facility and mixed use retail and commercial area is supposedly being built in Olathe, KS (Johnson County) which is about 15 miles away via highway I - 435 from the stadium.
