Mahomes is not a traditional pocket passer. I would expect more roll outs etc. He is elusive and can throw effectively on the run. A bad o line will not have the same impact as with a QB like Brady.
The turf toe is something to keep an eye on. He didn't scramble for yards much against the Bills.

So I have watched a bunch of the talking heads discuss the game and so far only a couple have highlighted the issues with KC's OL. There is a reason that a left tackle is one of the highest paid players on a team. The difference between ProBowler Fisher and swing tackle Remmers is significant. Fisher did not need any help, which may have helped KC to cover up some of the issues with the interior OL. That won't be the case this Sunday.

They have issues all across the line. Vea and Suh against an average interior and JPP against someone who has not started at LT since 2016 and Barrett against a guard playing RT.

Lol they probably talked about Mahomes the entire time, But KC is in a world of trouble with that line. Vea will need to be doubled so Suh one on one vs an average interior is bad no add in JPP/Barrett vs a backups. I don’t think Tampa will have to blitz at all to get pressure which means they can double both Kelce and Hill or Hill for sure and put Dean on Watkins who he’d erase. I think KC only scored 7 points in the second half of the last matchup after Tampa started double teaming Hill. And this was without Vea and Dean

Cam wasn't a traditional pocket passer either in SB 50. The same tackle that allowed Von Miller to be SB MVP then will be protecting Mahomes' blind side on Sunday.

and he won’t be able to step up in the pocket with Suh/Vea moving the pocket forward

If I’m the bucs I use the strategy the giants used on us. Ball control, limit kc’s possessions and of course exploit the weak kc ol to get to Mahomes. If kc gets enough possessions they will go off eventually like in the saints game. Tb absolutely is capable of pulling that plan off , Dl is playing well and fournette is running well. Then you have the all pro weapons in the passing game. My confidence in Tampa is growing!

Thing is Tampa can score with KC especially if the game is called right

Honestly think this was a bad move by the NFL. Should have setup a bubble situation for the players where they are tested every morning and all stay at a hotel, NBA playoff style. Only travel would be to nearby practice facilities. If they had done this immediately, you'd have time for any Covid effected player to test positive within the first few days and then have time for recovery/quarantine. It sucks seeing players miss the game for Covid-related issues when you have billions of dollars at stake and this is the biggest event in American sports.

I think he’s normally a backup - had 4 starts this year.

They did not test positive though so they should play if they stay negative.

A guy who has played three NFL seasons, always with at least four pro bowl teammates on offense, is in the category of "I've learned to never, ever doubt him, no matter the circumstances." Really?

That all makes sense but Reid won't try to play the game straight up against that DL with his reserves. Lots of quick passing and misdirection to tire the Bucs and they really have been throwing short stuff all year long. Mahomes moves the pocket on what % of his throws? Has to be a huge amount so I'm not sure how much this impacts things. It for sure does but it would be infinitely more useful if their Dline was hurt instead of the Oline. I think KC's defense is underrated and it's going to be important to score on the first possession to make them think.

IIRC, Brady has never scored in the first quarter of a SB, so if that is the recipe for winning, it's time to break a trend.

The second eagles one ? I know it was a big theme as we ran through the league for all those years but I don't recall if they broke that trend against the eagles.

Chiefs win and their fans are going to be possibly more insufferable than we were during our run. Media cannot wait to throw the Kermit worship into full gear. 3-peat talk will kick-off before the Lombardi presentation, hell it already has.

I think they kicked a FG but too lazy to google a box score.

Chiefs brought a lot of blitzes against Brady in Week 12. Smart move, especially with Tampa's confidence at their season low and the team struggling to integrate all of their receivers. Wonder how much they'll bring on Sunday and how much better equipped Brady is to handle the blitz.

I don't know the finer points of pass protection and offenses, but why would Gronk let Clark come in unblocked like that and run a fifteen yard seem route directly into coverage rather than just drifting out for a wide open screen pass?

Yep it was 9-3 Eagles at the end of the first quarter.
