Of course they can. They were up in arms over after Stafford's TD where he ran INSIDE the pylon and they were off on some conspiracy theory because he didn't lead with the football I guess, and doesn't the ball need to break the plane of the goal line (which it did btw) etc etc. And it's a conspiracy and the refs are out to get us!

And that doesn't even touch Geno's fumble when the DE ran into his arm and knocked the ball out.
