Many people thought Terrence Brown was an idiot for entering the draft even though he is a late round prospect. He's not an idiot. Because, according to my film, he got a 2nd round grade from the NFL draft advisory committee.
I got plenty of Faulk film from sophomore year. He's a good athlete with long arms, he is very good as a pass blocker, and he creates a wide base, but he plays with average on field intensity, has poor on field awareness, poor balance, not fluid, and he is mistake prone as a run blocker.
I need to say, Winters has a terrible build
Interesting. Brown whas been on my late round CB sleeper list. But are you suggesting that you grade him as a 2nd round pick, or that you believe the NFL draft advisory committee would have done similarly, or that you have actual information that they did so? I'm a bit confused.
Yeah but I feel it's important to watch the latest film possible. North Texas might not challenge him though. I still have the NC game around here somewhere.
For a tackle?
It's his body fat. He has a ton. No muscle at all.
To be frank, muscle is denser than fat. Therefore, a player with a low body fat percentage is going to look skinny for someone his size (Barkevious Mingo), while a player with a high body fat percentage will look out of shape and disgusting (John Jenkins). Brian Winters has the same body of D.J. Fluker. And that's not an exaggeration.
Build aside, what do you think of his play?
Kwame Geathers has no anchor at all. I was amazed at how far he got pushed back on play after play against GT. 4-5 yards on almost every play. One of the worst tapes I've seen all year I'm afraid. Admittedly he's better when trying to get upfield, but as a NT, no thanks.
2013 NFL Draft: USC loses CB Nickell Robey to NFL - CBSSports
Nickell Robey is a guy that really intrigues me. He's tiny (5'8", 165), but he's a sub-4.4 guy, a successful long-jumper, three-year starter, and sounds like a high-character guy that is going pro to help his family, especially after the loss of his mother a few years ago.
He got a day 3 projection, but he's not going to get any taller over the next year and he's got a family to support, so it makes sense. I'd be awfully tempted at the end of the third or maybe early fourth if the Pats gain a pick there.
So essentially he's a cross between Jeff Demps and Tyrann Mathieu (without the off-field issues)?

So I presume we'd be looking at him as a "Nickell" back?
This isn't a direct reply to Mankenzie's last post but I just wanted to say that this TE class is outstanding. I would be delighted if we drafted either Travis Kelce or Nick Kasa, even as high as the 2nd round. I know there's no desperate need, but those two guys will be outstanding NFL TE's as far as I'm concerned. Kasa has superb athleticism for a man his size and he's only been playing the position for a year. He's already been promoted from the Shrine game to the Senior Bowl and will continue to rise fast and I'll eat something foul if Kelce is drafted later than the 3rd round.

William Campbell is definitely intriguing. Insisted on playing point guard in BB games with his teammates.
He's the closest to Hicks IMO, but he lacks the same ferocity.
For those that don't know, Campbell was a highly recruited 5 star prospect from 2009 that never really developed until last year when a new defensive coordinator was hired. He's still raw and could bust, but he has enormous potential. He's about 6'5" 310.
Yeah, Campbell is intriguing. His frame could allow him to get in the 320 range, and he could be a something in-between a Hicks and Brockers stylistically. While he was largely a bust before this year, a couple of thoughts:
- He pretty much admitted he was a bust and took responsibility. That's something. Some kids never do, and he may just be a late maturing guy.
- Michigan moved him to OL for most of one season (I think it was 2010, IIRC), which may have ******ed his development. The fact that he agreed to make the switch says something about his attitude.
As a late round/UDFA guy, he's intriguing, as is Brandon Moore.
