The 2012 season: the Jets [Mod Edit: STILL] suck

I guess the guy that calls Sparano "Sporano" knows better than anyone.

The reality is I have no clue, from everything I have read it seems to be a better fit but all the matters is what happens on the field this season. Just have to wait and see.

Yes, making an easy spelling mistake to make while typing rapidly on a keyboard in a message board format is a perfectly valid reason to dismiss an entire post noting the fickleness of the Jets fans and the irony of their 3+ seasons of defending Sanchez and throwing everyone else under the bus.

Brilliant! Thanks for demonstrating the point about Jets fans being, well, Jets fans...

He had 6 sacks and 4 forced fumbles, quite a few being game changers. While I admit a good amount were coverage sacks he was still able to get them. No Jets linebacker has speed like him and where the opposin QBs were forced to hold the ball way too long in the past and never really pay the price Maybin was actually able to get there. Production is production and it was more than we were getting out of the position previously.

Now I expect to the Patriots defense to be the typical unit they have had, the bend but dont break, give up a lot of yards but not a lot of points defense they are known for. I think the big difference between the two units is the Jets lean on their D to help their O and the Pats lean on their O to help their D. Two different philosphies but if any of the recent Pats draft picks on defense pan out it could be a very good unit. I'm just hoping that a step up in D line play and safety play can make the Jets defensive unit quite a bit better than last year, time will tell.

I only saw five sacks in the video.

Speed is not the only thing an outside LB needs. From watching Maybin last year, he seems to have only one move (which teams may have figured out from his lack of production in the last month) and he is easily taken out of plays. He got a lot of his sacks because even after being taken out of the play, he was able to recover and get back on plays where the QB had to hold onto the ball for a few more seconds. It isn't a good thing if a guy like that is your best outside rusher.

I agree that the Jets lean on their defense more and, although based on the stupid NFL system of judging solely on yards to rank them they were in the top 5, they were a rather average defense last year. Their lack of yardage given up was that they turned the ball so often on offense and special teams that they were consistently defending short fields. Considering they were in the bottom third in points allowed, they lost a lot of those battles.

Second, early results have been poor. I know it is only mini camps and OTAs, but Sanchez completed like 30% of his passes during those sessions.

I stopped reading at this. Who in the world cares about OTA minicamps "stats". They are beyond meaningless.

Anyway, since you and your pals insist on lumping me in with every moronic Jet fan with a keyboard I won't bother posting anymore.

So youtube videos have more weight than recorded NFL stats...

I am not doubting the six sacks and I didn't look it up. I am saying I only said five sacks because I only saw five in the video.

But making blanket statements about an entire fanbase and lumping my thoughts in with every other Jet fan is genius.

You're not half as smart as you attempt to be.

It's been real, enjoy your thread.

First, you go on any Jets board and based on minicamps and OTAs, many Jets fans think this is going to be the best defense of the Ryan era.

Second, I said that it was only minicamps and OTAs. I am a big believer in you can't draw much from minicamps and OTAs, but that is all we have thus far to measure it and it looks like thus far Sanchez is struggling with it. Now he could be a master of the system by week1, but I tend to doubt it.

Third, I haven't lumped you with anyone. I have no problem debating with a Jets fan who wants to debate without name calling and stupidity. I haven't responded to you any differently than I would a Pats' fan I disagree with. Maybe my style is a little gruff.

Actually, "Jets fans" is a generality as opposed to "every single Jets fan", as you surely know, so you got this wrong. With a mistake like that, coming back with the "genius" thing probably wasn't the best way to go about things. Making it worse is saying that I lumped your thoughts in with them, when what I did was show you making the same type of inane attacks, first on Burress because he didn't get separation and make Sanchez's job easier, and then on me because I misspelled "Sparano" in a message board post. It's not my fault you decided to play the stereotype.

You're not half as smart as you attempt to be.

I know how smart I am, and I don't make any "attempt" at it. It is what it is, for better or worse.

It's been real, enjoy your thread.

I have, and I will continue to do so. After all, the Jets will continue to suck...

From reading a lot about the style of Soprano and the offense he is putting in as opposed to the Schotty O, I think this offense should really be one where Mark's replacement Tim Tebow thrives. Santonio seems to feel the same way and that is already a good sign. Mark and him have been playing nice lately so we will see how it goes.

Corrected your post for you

What really matters is where the player fell among his peers.

About six yards behind the line of scrimmage you mean?

Rexorcism, if you're still here, we just sidestream-hate you, especially because of the thread you're in. I can't say I blame you for taking off.

Nothing personal, but you've stumbled on the main thread on the board where we just hate on your team, rationally or otherwise. So then if you show up, you start out with like 10 strikes against you for being a Jets fan. I want to throw up even explaining this. See how that happens?

You're probably a real good guy in real life and all that, but damn your team sucks.

.

I have your answer...and his name is Ray Ray 19...you being a Jet fan and all you probably never heard of him..or SG 3...or Slikmojet who threatened to commit sexual assaults on Patriot fans wives and daughters...or Vin the Jet fan who posted on an open Jet message board that he would murder any Pats fan he ran into at a game in the Meadowlands...and he was being dead serious as his followup blizzard of psychopathic hate messages littered J.I. for weeks and weeks afterward...all of them are going nutso right now and have been about the 53 All Pros that Jets rolled out in OTA's...nah, you don't know any Jet fans like these...they're just anomalies....right...how much did you say you were selling the Holland Tunnel for???

Silly jets fans..trix are for kids

There are plenty of knocks on Sanchez but I think Plax's opinion of him is one of the last things I would ever use as a measuring stick. Plax was possibly the worst signing the Jets have made in years considering he was going to be the #2. The guy barely got his legs back by the end of the year and if not for his great leaping and catching ability would have been altogether useless. The Jets forcing him the ball repeatedly on the goal line inflated his stats in what really was an underwheliming year. Is Plax still a big body redzone threat? Of course. Is he an NFL caliber starting #2 WR? I don't think so.

Interestingly Burress is still better than all the WRs the Jets have competing for the WR2 spot.

I'd love to see a picture of sg3, I'm thinking of something on the lines of this:

Tread it lightly,my friend.Stinky guano 3 may put you on his ignore list .

Remember back to last offseason and Ray Ray 19 was bragging and boasting up his mighty Jets and the great Mark Sanchez?....I persistently asked him a simple question...who is the better QB, Sanchez or Brady....to the point that members here were sick and tired of it...yet he NEVER DID ANSWER that simple question....I post this because I always KNEW who he was convinced was the better QB but was too cowardly to actually say it....NOW the rat is out of the bag...

Sanchez is 4-2 in the playoffs in the last 3 years

Brady is 2-2 in the playoffs in the last 3 years

Sanchez has beaten Brady

Sanchez is 25, Brady is 36

Regular season is for losers

Sanchez > Brady

Suck it you ****ing troll!

sg3 is such a caricature that it's hard to take him very seriously. Ray Ray, on the other hand, is a truly angry human being. And apparently he has young children! I can only imagine him tucking the kids into bed, telling his wife goodnight and then sitting down in front of the computer to throw expletives at Pats fans all night long.

Btw, "PatsfanTX" is a hero. Dude has over 45,000 posts on a Jets board. Not even sure how that is possible.
