The one thing I think is really funny is that you read the Jets' boards and they think the Jets are going to revolutionize the NFL and that most teams are moving towards the option offense. They point towards Cam Newton and the incoming Andrew Luck and RG3 (and obviously Tebow last year). There are several things they are afraid to admit or too dumb to understand:
1.) Cam Newton, Luck, and RG3 are good to great passers who chose to run as a second option, not their primary option. Newton passed for over 4,000 yards. His running was successful because teams feared his passing.
2.) The two teams they point to (the Broncos and Panthers) did not have winning regular season records. The Panthers were 6-10 and the Broncos were 8-8.
3.) The Panthers aren't and the Colts and Redskins won't be platooning QBs like the Jets are. Newton, Luck, and RG3 will not be taken out of the game for 15-20 plays a gain. When Tebow goes in for Sanchez, teams know to watch for the run. When Sanchez is in, they don't care about him running the ball. Newton, Luck, and RG3 are threats to tuck the ball to run on any play.
