The team spent vast resources to replace their two boundary WR’s with Brown and Doubs. They still rep Douglas as their starting slot WR. That’s three…What exactly is a Boutte truther?
This has nothing to do with feelings. I don't know him, don't have a Boutte jersey.
We are a better team with him on the roster in 2026 than trading him for a future 5th rd pick.
We will roster 6 WR, Boutte is one of our 6 best.
That math is as simple as it gets.
Perhaps it's your feelings considering you said him being gone was "a done deal" several weeks ago.
Kyle Williams has looked uncoverable in joint practices and game one of preseason. Chism just keeps making plays in the slot. Those two appear to be the best rotational players on the boundary and in the slot. That’s five…
Hollins is unique, he’s tall, big, really strong, fearless in traffic, blocks like a beast and can play special teams… plus Josh loves him. That’s six…
Two UDFA’s in Dorner and DeGennerro have looked great in camp. They have 5 or 6 TD’s scored between them. Like guys you could stash on the practice squad for pennies or might push for roster spots in the next two preseason games. That’s eight:..
Boutte truthers are people who refuse to accept that the WR position itself has roles, and if the team valued Boutte as a boundary WR as much as you do they wouldn’t have traded a first or paid a fortune for Brown and Doubs to replace him. He’s a 500-700 yard receiver to date, nice player… but hardly convincing he’s “among their 6 best.”
We have no clue how much better Williams, Dorner and DeGennerro could be with added snaps and targets… potentially much better. We’ll have a better understanding after preseason is over. If these guys aren’t fools gold, the team will have to trade Boutte.
