T.O and Ty Law snubbed by HOF voters

A good case can be made for Vinatieri, Law, Seymour and Harrison. I do not think Brusci, Brown and McGinest have enough personal accolades (Pro Bowls etc..) or signature moments to make it but I hope I am wrong. The greatness of the 70's Steelers pulled in Swan and Stallworth who both only made the Pro Bowl 3x each and whose stats were very pedestrian (even for the era) so this run of excellence should carry some weight.

Mcginest is the alltime post season sack leader.

In a way, the Patriots defense blended in so well that it hurts them. Meaning not one guy stood out above the rest. I do think Ty Law, Harrison are hall of famers. If not, I will still remember Law single handily beating the Colts. Not to mention the pick six of Warner in SB 36.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but Ty Law may have hurt his own case by leaving the Patriots when he did. Had he stayed with the Pats who are a virtual lock to make the playoffs, he could have been in the HOF as of this week. Chasing the dollar might have needlessly set back his nomination.

McGinest and Law were both big game players and I'd love to see them make it. Willie, despite having 16 post season sacks only has 2 Pro Bowls so I think he is a long shot. But with TD making it mostly due to superior post season play who knows.

Truth. Once I heard Peytie Pie was introducing the MVP for the year, I knew Brady wasn't winning and Law wasn't getting in. You don't want to put Peytie Pie in an uncomfortable position. On another note, the host of the show (Keegan Michael Key?) was hysterical. Very funny and very smooth. He made Fraudger extremely uncomfortable, which was a bonus.

Look at all the things the NYFL, and at times the mediots, have done for PEDton:

- They skipped over his failures in college.
- They avoided his tea-bagging incident like it was the plague.
- They put him in a dome to pad his stats.
- They put him in one offense and kept him there.
- They took him out of the AFCE.
- They put him into a division of expansion teams for easier trips to the playoffs.
- They changed the rules when he kept losing in the playoffs.
- They swept his PED use way under the rug.

They just never saw the B&B train heading their way.

Ah, I wouldn't say he "never" choked. I had season tickets for years, and saw Morten miss at least one game winning FG against the 49ers. But to be honest, except for that one kick, Morten was money. And if that was the only clutch kick he missed in 25 years, then he deserves to be in. The real joke is Jan Stenerud being in the HOF. Check out his career stats. I know he was elected when kickers weren't as prolific as they are today, but he was below 70% on FGs for his career.

I watched a good portion of sapps career and he's absolutely a hof player. Will say I thought John randle was better but he's still not in I don't think

Point was Strahan got pushed out because Sapp's representative gave a better presentation....i.e. sportswriters often don't know the guys they are voting for that well.

I have a serious question for some of you. Induction into the HoF for players is about winning games, isn't it? The players stats are about helping a team win.

It's well known TO's refusal to play, remarks, etc in 2005 ruined the Eagles playoff hopes - team imploded after being in the SB the previous year. TO caught 500 less yards less that year than the one before. Impossible to say, but the performance of a number of players were down as a result of his behavior. Is the net loss 2,000 yards for the team? -3,000? -5,000? More? It's safe to say in that offseason, other teams were looking at TO....he will receive 1,000 yards, but how many other players stats will be down. What will be the offensive scoring be in a couple of years when he's unhappy with something? And that was only one of season TO rocked the boat.

I think it's objective to take his receiving production and deduct from it his disruptions to teams he played for. For those who disagree, have you EVER gotten in discussions of: Peyton lost this game, but Brady would have?

Terrell Owens should only enter the HOF after he has paid for his ticket.

I definitely don't agree with the T.O. snub. Was he a problem in the locker room and a highly divisive player? Absolutely. Is he one of the best WRs in the history of the game? Absolutely! IMO it's Rice, Moss and T.O. as the greatest of all time. The fact he's been snubbed twice is shocking. Only his play on the field should determine his chances of getting in. Law not getting in is disappointing as he's one of the best defensive players in our history and his INT total is pretty high. Plus he had a Super Bowl pick 6 and a 3-INT game against Manning in the AFC title game. He played big in big games. He should be in. Same with Brian Dawkins, 9x Pro Bowler and 4-time All-Pro are very impressive credentials.

Kurt Warner and Terrell Davis were great great players but for such a short period of time. If you're gonna let those guys in you have to let in Sterling Sharpe, someone who's been snubbed year after year. I personally think you need to be good for at least 5-6 years, so I think Warner and Davis are iffy selections.

I dislike TO as much as the next guy, but he clearly belongs in the HOF. Given his production over the course of his career, I think not having him in there delegitimizes the HOF more than anything, because they can't claim to enshrine the best players while passing him over.

They didn't have a problem putting Brett Favre in though who had drugs and alcohol issues and sent pics of his junk to a female employee, Terrell Owens is a better all time WR than Favre is a QB but they wouldn't of thought about holding Favres off field stuff against him so why T.O?
