T.O and Ty Law snubbed by HOF voters

I don't think not getting on on your first ballot is a snub. I think TO should get in on the 2nd ballot. Law should be in by now. I think they let in too many people on the first ballot and that should only be done for the absolute best of the best.

Edit: Oh i see this is TO's 2nd or 3rd shot. Nevermind.

At least Ty made the final 10.

Explains why you can be an average player on the steelers and get in. That overrated haircut needing ass polamalu will probably get first ballot

If Rodney doesn't get in he sure as hell shouldn't.

His contemporary was Ed Reed and the comparison is not close.

I disagree a little. I think first ballot should be the guys you dont even have to give a second thought to.

I think Owens falls into that group. As will Fitzgerald one day.

The media votes will assure Rodney doesn't get in and it's a ****ing travesty. One of my favorite players (I played safety) him and Tatum were my 2 favorite safeties of all time

TO should be in yeah. I do kinda get their point though. He had meltdowns with the qb or coach on three different teams.

The strong safety position has changed so much. Lott, Rodney, Tatum, Atwater Easley would not be welcome in today's NFL...

I think Terrell Owens is a complete jackass - and he should've been a 1st ballot HOFer. I just don't understand what the voters are thinking.

Let me give you an idea.

TO was a great receiver on the field.

TO killed multiple teams in the locker room. He basically single-handedly took away any shot these teams had to win a Super Bowl.

It sounds like most everyone here is evaluating TO almost exclusively on what he did on the field. Personally, I think how he was a team killer is a real important part of the evaluation. Anyone you add to the team who makes it next to impossible to win a title is not a HOF player in my thinking.

Different strokes for different folks. Just something to consider. I doubt many of you are going to change your criteria but at least you've heard the argument.

I don't doubt that for a minute, my point is he might not of made a strong enough of a case. I've read stories over the years of how strong presentations often make the difference. I'd love to know who was making Owens case.

I link this because it tells you the selection system is flawed

Does the Pro Football Hall of Fame voting process need fixing? | The MMQB with Peter King

Some sportswriters are not completely up to speed and lean on presenters. For example Sapp got in over Strahan? Further, BB asks if there is a criteria (like MLB) and the sportswriter admits they are making it up as they go along!

I watched a good portion of sapps career and he's absolutely a hof player. Will say I thought John randle was better but he's still not in I don't think

Boselli > Warner

That dude was gold.

Randle is in.

Owens should of went in as a first ballot HOFer. Disgraceful to leave him out

The fact that Kurt Warner gets in and Terrell Owens did not is proof that personal bias has too much of an effect on the HoF voter's decision making.

2 time mvp and 1 time SB mvp, and 3 SB appearances. i'm fine with warner getting in. it's about the quality over quantity.

but TO is a HOFer. 1st ballot HOFer.
