Steven Jackson!

I don't want to down this Iosefa kid, but anyone who plays running back behind Brady has a huge advantage he won't see in many other places. Defenders are on their heels. I could see Jackson providing a lot to this team.

Well Upstart I don't disagree with the premise that the effective passing game gives a RB an edge, however, the ineffective OL says "hi".
With that said, if SJ hits his running lane, any inkling of a lane, quick and hard I'll be happy. With the OL as it is this is what we need right now. And, IMHO, this, except Iosfa to an extent last game, has been lacking for weeks with the Patriots. IMHO 2 yards is better than stutter steps and a 1 yard loss/too much 2nd and 11.

Ok, I'm dreaming, but imagine if he recaptures the magic? Imagine? How star-spangled awesome would that be?

I mean, obviously, that's the pie-in-the-sky hope.

My top-end expectations are far, far less than that.

Look I like the signing but I'm wicked pissed he stole my gym workout photos from my FB page.

How much do we expect him to play Sunday? Ease his way in...or full tilt

NJ has the # 1 run defense.

IMO, its going to be a long day for the Pats if they cant get something out of the run game with the receiving corp as depleted as it is. I am optimistic that Jackson will play a big role in this game.

Maroney jerseys that have a Woodhead nameplate over them will now have a Jackson nameplate

Expect him to get a couple of catches out of the backfield, when the Jets are in base defense, and keying run when he's in the backfield.

Welcome back to the NFL Steven Jackson. This is, likely-ish, your last yet certainly still an excellent chance to reestablish yourself in the NFL for a shot at a multi year contract in 2016-2017.
The routine is pretty simply yet time consuming here: eat drink sleep preparation, do what the coaches ask to the Nth degree, and never be in a position to say "I failed because I wasn't prepared". Keep any BS off the field and inside closed doors to make winning singularly important.
IMHO, as an NFL football expert who moonlights (in the daytime) as a router/switch programmer , whatever you have in the tank spend it all! leave it all on the field. Unlike your previous playing days where a whole lot of pieces/parts of the team couldn't deliver on a high level, this time your specific contribution is what is missing from an otherwise almost complete team. You Steven Jackson the individual could literally be the difference between a SB ring and not (and be a local legend for all time). So no pressure -- -- just go out and give a super human performance.

He's 32. I think this is literally his last hurrah. He's guaranteed several hundred thousand dollars for 3 games, maybe 5, and as good a chance at any to walk off a pretty storied career with a ring.

One interesting storyline: if he walks off with a ring, if he gets up there and lifts the trophy and announces his retirement, does Steven Jackson become a Hall of Famer? Don't scoff, Jackson was always substantially better than Jerome Bettis ever was and Bettis made the Hall of Fame based purely on media love and narrative from the 2005 Steelers.

I like Jackson, but there's no way he's a HOFer.

I've always been a Jacksonian guy

Oh my gosh, does that sound terrible to me! My first small, 2 year associate's degree was in computer networking, and I thought I was going to lose my mind. Everyone I knew constantly asked me about PC related issues, and I couldn't have possibly cared less. I just hated it.

However they get it done is fine with me, but we certainly need a boost in the running game--and quickly.

I don't expect much against the Jet's run D, but man, 'what if' Jackson ran all over them? Wow. That would be a happy day.

Interesting question. I'd have to look at the stats, but Jackson never came off to me as a HOFer, even as good as he's been at times.

I assume Montee Ball will give up 39?

Didn't love the Merriman half of this commercial, but always a fan of the second half (especially the ending).

Here's hoping he has something left.
