Polk will become a good receiver. I think people should get off his case.
The biggest problem on offense yesterday was Pop being sick and only appearing briefly in the 1st half. With him at regular strength I think we may have been able to match Jacksonville score for score. Without him and down a WR throughout the game, we didn't have the weapons. Maye for much of the game was incredible given that and the OL instability.
A 55 gallon drum?LAR want a #2 for Kupp
Offering 'em Polk + a gallon of Stickum
What if we had Douglas, Boutte, McConkey, and Kupp? Good group with Henry and another TE. Hooper is not impressive.I used to be against wasting a pick on a veteran, but now I really think we need to bring someone like Kupp, Hopkins and all the others we always miss out on, even if just for 1-2 years so these young punks have someone to learn how to be a pro from. All this social media high school drama, and lack of productivity aint it.
It will also help Drake immeasurably having a reliable vet, who also will be able to help him improve from a WR perspective.
Problem is enticing them to come here.
How many of the 31 teams do you think have worse than Boutte, Douglass, Henry?I think Boutte + Douglas + Henry is a pretty good group .
I have a strange feeling that tyquan will break out if we give him the opportunity. Van pelt just needs to go ballistic with call play. What do we have to lose. Just go with more creative call playsm let every game be our Superbowl .
Polk / baker will pan out . I think by end of season wr depth will be our strength and Lowe and brown will be entrenched as starters . We should be pleasantly surprised and optimistic with offense going into end of year.
Offense is seeing some upward trends .

Agreed. I'd even have Edelman come down and be a WR consultant and scream at them (I made that role up). Just anything to light a fire under them, on and off the field collectively has been shambolic.I see your point, but I doubt our young receivers will learn much from a half season and whatever player we get isn’t going to be happy with the current situation. I’d rather give the young players as much playing time as possible to better evaluate them.
If we can pick up a good veteran in the offseason, great, but I don’t want to give up much draft capital for an older guy as we have so many positions to address.
Keon Coleman looks like a physical beast in the NFL. So... not exactly Miss Cleo. This is what I thought about Polk last year:
BEFORE THE DRAFT:
BGC 2024 WR/PTP Thread
I haven't really looked at Penix, but getting him and Odunze might not be the worst idea. They have 2 years of practice and game reps together, and it could be similar to a Burrow/Chase dynamic and the only somewhat realistic option for drafting a QB/WR combo besides Nix/Franklin. Who will be the major busts in this draft?
Keon Coleman looks like the new N'Keal Harry....but I have made this comparison before and been soooo wrong so take this with a grain of salt.www.patsfans.com
But we did not have QB for first 5 games.Keon Coleman looks like a physical beast in the NFL. So... not exactly Miss Cleo.
I Still wish we had taken Pickens instead of twig physique Thornton! Pickens is top 10 in WR receiving yards this year and had 1140 yards and 5 TDs last season.

We did PASS on Ladd McConkey and trade down. So he's a fair comparison for what we could have had.
And yet Pittsburgh is talking about trading Pickens because he's too disruptive to the team. I seriously doubt this guy makes his 2nd contract. But that doesnt change the fact that Pickens is much better than TyquanKeon Coleman looks like a physical beast in the NFL. So... not exactly Miss Cleo.

The Patriots drafting at WR is historically AWFUL. I can't think of a worse 20+ year stretch of missing At WR over and over and over again!
