Somehow, every WR drafted is worst than the last.

We will have number 1 pick, so I do not know McMillan is the right guy. However he won't be on the board round II.
Way too early to say of course, but hypothetically if we can move down to say pick 5 and snag him, then still grab O line in the 1st that would be ideal.

Or vice versa and you go Kelvin Banks Jr at 5, then take a consensus WR1 at say 15 (around the spot Jags took Brian Thomas Jr this year).

No more reaching on niche unheard of guys, just take the obvious stud FOR ONCE in our life and see if it works out different, hint - it will.

I do not know what is going on with Baker. In college he was really good and creating spaces and contested catches were his marks. Before the season on a camp he was quite visible and suddenly he disappeared.

He’s too Hood for the coaching staff.

It looked like teams were moving around the board to get ahead of us for WRs. I was hoping for Ladd McKonky, who started well but has been battling an injury. We should have tried to move up.
The Chargers took McConkey with the pick the Patriots traded them.

As of today, nobody has an extra first-round pick. So you'd still be relying on someone willing to trade down out of the first.

Interesting. Then I think in the best case we could hope for us to package a couple 2nds (maybe more on value chart?) to climb back into back end of the 1st.

We do have a lot of holes though, it seems the team culture overall has fallen off a cliff... surprise surprise after losing the GOAT HC, even though it was his time.

Could just be goodbye to the UK but yeah insane mentally unstable assclown is probably the more logical take here in Boston Sports land

If you could do everything in retrospect, you could trot out 22 Hall of Famers each and every game.

Gonzalez over other WRs was the right choice. Steelers are talking about dealing away Pickens as we speak. Harry was a bad pick, but everyone thought he was going there. Metcalf was universally critiqued for being stiff and unable to run routes. That's why everyone passed on him. 2x. Meanwhile, only 2 WRs in the first 2 rounds are still with their original teams, only 3 panned out, and there were 5 busts. You can try using hindsight but that requires ignoring the 5 busts taken before Metcalf.

You can do this up and down the line. Our QB was 38 years old. Drafting a QB in the 2nd round seems like the smart thing to do when your starter is 38.

Then this year even casual college fans like myself wanted us to trade up a few spots to snag Brian Thomas, or Xavier Worthy.

Instead we got Polk and Baker... it's wild how someones getting paid to do a worse job than the fans could do for free.

I’m not perfect, just an armchair fan…but I screamed during the draft for the patriots to take AJ Brown at 32 in 2019. Harry’s college tape wasn’t in the same stratosphere as Brown’s. The proof is in the pudding. Patriots executive management needs to do better at drafting offense

Huh? AJ Brown’s college tape blew away Harry’s . Deebo was more highly touted as well. Metcalf “unable to run routes”. Was Harry able to run routes? Or just win jump balls against B level smurfs?

It’s not retrospective or revisionist, I have the college evaluations during those time periods. Keenan Allen never should have dropped below Aaron Dobson. Not on anyone’s board.

We constantly wasted high draft picks on WR “projects” from lesser conferences instead of drafting the well known college studs from big schools.

The long track record of deplorable evaluations of WR talent, and the perfunctory effort put forth to rectify this issue has resulted in the worst nfl offense in the past 3 years.

How come he's trailing every play? No INT's. No pass breakups.
He was regarded as the steal of the draft at the time remember.

He's been below par recently but its also fair to say a snowball effect has taken hold on this entire team.

Everyones effort and concentration is down. Lots of missing pieces on D, the energy is bad.

I feel like when hes locked in, and the D overall is back to competent he'll be back at his best.
