On Facebook, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady posted a “Throwback Thursday” picture of an essay he wrote when he a 17 year old high school senior.

The essay was entitled “The Way My Sisters Influence Me” as Brady spoke about living in the shadows of his three older sisters, who also were athletes growing up. The piece provides an inspiring look into the early years of Brady’s life and the goals he was already setting for himself.

Some memorable lines consisted of Brady pondering what his future held, even going as far to say, “Don’t get me wrong, I was very proud of my sisters and love them with all of my heart, but I wished I would be recognized as an individual and not as another ‘Brady’…And hopefully, just maybe, one day people will walk up to them and say, ‘Aren’t you Tommy’s sister?’ or ‘Hey where is your brother?’ Maybe…..”

Its pretty safe to say over 20 years later he got his wish.
