OK with straight line speed. Anything in the 4.6 range is excellent for a TE. IIRC Gronk was a 4.6 guys.... (so was Welker for that matter. ;) ). I'm still interested in the 3 cone time. IIRC Warring was sub 7 seconds. I'd also be concerned with part of the draft summary which mentioned him not being strong enough yet to hold his position on routes. But if he's a third day guy, then he's bound to have holes in his game. I'm on board if he's the 2nd TE we pick. Thanks

I’m afraid Warring was 7.21 in the 3c

I think Tommy Sweeney is being slept on a little, was underutilized at BC, but has a lot of the traits I like in a TE. Should be available in the late rounds and would be a steal in my opinion if we got him in round 6 or 7.

I haven't seen it lately here.

Would you give us your ratings on any TE's that are likely competent 2019 patriot starters and what round you project them. I've seen 15 as many TE's in the first 3 rounds. I don't know how ready they are, though.

I haven’t studied them to the extent others have because I’m sort of taking a year off, but of the ones that interest me. It’s not an exhaustive list, but these are the ones on my radar.

    Rnd 1

TJ Hockenson - Day 1 Starter, long-term solution at position

    Rnd 1-2

Noah Fant - knocked him down a touch because he’s not a traditional Y

    Rnd 2

Irv Smith - I like him but he’s undersized and underathletic which knocks him out of the 1st for me. Would need to draft an inline TE to compliment him.

Jace Sternberger - Enticing big yardage receiving TE but offers little as a blocker. As with Smith, would need to compliment him with a blocking TE

Dawson Knox - Has yet to prove himself on the field because he wasn’t utilised but I like the potential package as a starting Y TE

    Rnd 3

Kahale Warring - Really like the upside as a future starting Y TE as a blocker and receiver. His inexperience makes the floor a little concerning.

    Rnd 4

Drew Sample - I see his ceiling as not much more than a solid, yet unspectacular starting Y TE. But that doesn’t concern me too much because his floor is higher than most. He’s an excellent blocker already and his athleticism isn’t any worse than most other guys outside of Hock/Fant. Sample might be my favoured option right now just because he’s relatively plug and play. He could be upgraded at a later date but I think he can help straight away and plug that inline hole.

    Day 3

Trevon Wesco - If you want a Dwayne Allen replacement, here’s your guy. Tremendous blocking skills.

Good summary. I'd suggest Moreau as well. I rate him above Knox, Sample, or Sternberger.

Some days I regret removing you from the ignore list. Why are you following me in draft threads and replying with buzzer sounds? You've done that twice now, and I'm starting to think I should just put you on ignore again. I'm fine with disagreements and dialogue, but you seem like the type who finds it funny to make fun of someone else's hobbies.

I would reach agreements in principle with Jenkins and Crabtree and Donald Penn and go happily into the draft. The sign them officially after May 7th.

Dawson Knox (UMiss) just ran a 4.5 forty with a sub 7 second 3-cone at 6-5, 250 at his pro day, and I'm wondering why this is the first time I've ever heard of the guy!!!!!

Who is he? Where is he likely to go? and why hasn't he ever entered the discussion until this point?

Gronk may never be replaced but as far as a veteran with zero pass catching potential and some run blocking ability what do people think about Jermaine Gresham?

Think Dwayne Allen but at veteran minimum not $5 M per year.

Dawson Knox TE Mississippi - Draft Player Profile | The Draft Network

2019 NFL Draft Prospect - Tightends Rankings
has him as the #9 TE and the 164th best overall.

walter football has him as a 5th-7th rounder, and only the #19 TE in the draft

He played in a vertical offence with three WRs (Brown, Metcalf and Demarcus Lodge) and just wasn't featured in the receiving game. In terms of potential value and his athletic potential as a TE1, I like him as a late 2nd rounder. In fact, he might be my no1 choice in terms of value.

Knox is on a par with Noah Fant/George Kittle athletically.

This is him in the slot blocking a DB

Would you considering worth drafting at the end of the 3rd?
