Snap Count Analysis. Overplayed Busts Contribute to 1-3 December and Alarming 5-10 Dec Record Since 2019

1.NKeal Harry playing 95% of offensive snaps is criminal. NKeal Harry sucks. He's a glorified TE3. Mac basically played like Cam with NKeal Harry as the #1 receiver. NKeal got 15 more snaps than Meyers and NKeal played double the snaps of Bourne. NKeal Harry cannot run routes, cannot get open, cannot catch, and is an albatross 1st round bust.

2. On defense, Bentley sucks and Godchaux sucks. This should have been obvious since preseason, or when they gave up 270 rushing yards, or when they gave up 220 rushing yards. Bentley getting 86% of snaps is idiotic and the pattern still holds true that whenever Godchaux plays the most DLine snaps, the Patriots defense sucks. I think the Pats are 2-6 when Godchaux leads DLine snaps.

95% of the offensive snaps in the Buffalo home game is an outlier. Harry played so many snaps because Agholor was out/concussion. He usually doesn't run too many plays because, well, he does suck. Typically he's been in there this year as a blocker.

On defense there could be a better rotation, but the defense has been hit hard with the injury bug. Anderson, Uche, Winovich, Collins, Jennings, Jones, Wise Jr have all missed games... and the guys who have played a lot are all banged up... puts a real strain on the ability of changing things up and keeping players fresh for the second half when you can't create an effective rotation.

Yeah the issue is Agholor out, the solution isn't NKeal f'ing Harry for 95% of snaps. This roster is ideal to play majority 12 personnel.

6 targets.

What was he doing the rest of the time?

Maybe before offering an "analysis" learn how to actually analyze things?

Otherwise it just comes off as more pedantic rantings from you.

What are you talking about. 95% of snaps is already terrible, it means he was blocking Bourne and Meyers from getting more snaps. Jonnu as well. The fact NKeal sucks at getting open is not a good thing. Also Harry had more targets than Bourne who only played half the total snaps. And Jonnu played less than half the snaps that Harry played. Why are you defending the decision to play a bust 1st round pick so much ??

This is like playing basketball 4 on 5. A losing proposition.

Oh. I see. You don't actually know how to analyze anything.

Ok. Gotcha.

Some play chess
Some play checkers
Others are learning how to put a square peg in a round hole.

I think you're wrong, the captain is a pretty funny person. I think the deeply depressed people are those who keep posting to themselves on things they read, or get extra cranky when anybody calls out problems in Patriot losses. Imagine being such a shill homer that you can go 2-4 to start the season and flipping out that anyone dare to call out issues.

.
Imagine not understanding that you are disagreed with because you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about and you think it’s because you “dare to call out issues”.
Accurately identifying issues is one thing. Making them up and crying about them in 7000 posts is basically the opposite.

Easy now, some of McD's family members are probably trolls here, you'll hurt their feelings talking about the oc. Schematic disadvantage going into every single game.....

I'm already on to MIA. That will be a big game.

a partial answer to the Bourne vs Harry question at hand...

Bourne played 47% of the offensive snaps... which, is on the low end of the snap count range he had been getting over the course of the season... considering he was literally activated from the covid list may be an indicator as to why his snap count dropped from the 71% he saw in the Colts game... But that does take up 30 of the 32 passing plays as a whole... Maybe the guy was gassed from covid?

An additional consideration... 64 offensive snaps, and a base minimum of 27 running plays vs buffalo... this likely means Harry had multiple opportunities to be on the field as a blocker for the running game, something he has been doing fairly well at... Harry was in there for the passing play targets because Nelson Agholor was not available to play. Period.

Is Harry a good receiver? No. Is he an average receiver? No. But for some reason or another, BB kept him. And he's using him, taking advantge of what he does fairly well. I don't see him making the team next year. AFter the issues in the preseason this year, I think the time has come that he will no longer be with us.

OK thanks for clarifying that you think it's fine we used a glorified blocker at WR as the lead WR in snaps in probably the most important game of the season.

3. Players who should be playing more include Onwenu who should be inserted at RT; Wynn is playing horribly so move Trent Brown to LT. Give more snaps to Bourne, keep Meyers as the leading WR in snaps, Jonnu Smith is relegated to a blocking TE under this idiot oc who continues to have no clue how to use 2 tight ends. Barmore isn't a NT either but he commands double teams, Barmore should always play more snaps than G-dCrap.

And finally, don't excuse this as if this is a championship staff around Bill that knows best. This the same slow staff that benched Karras for 6 weeks for no reason, started 0-4 at home and started 2-6. An offensive staff who last year never played Meyers or Harris until binkies NKeal/Michel got hurt at mid-season. A staff that faded in 2019 just like right now.

2 December losses is a horrible sign, 3-5 at home, this is not the Patriots of old. This is not a team that gets better as the season goes on. This is not a team that beats teams on repeat encounters. The staff around BB isn't good enough starting at OC. Who has Billy O'Brien's phone number?

I can't believe that you don't have BOBs phone number.

1 & 3. Both of those first round picks came at the expense of the offense. Missing on Smith hasn't helped either.

My opinion is better than you not offering any analysis at all on a topic you created offering an analysis. At least I tried.

Next time call your thread what it is - just another DKM rant. You could have done that much and more in Ian's thread on Harry.

My opinion

Look, it's all good. I get it. You're a massive homer and think losing the last 2 December games has justified rationale. Cool. People just have different bars for success and quality. Thanks for repeatedly sharing that you are fine with everything happening. And thanks for repeatedly letting us know you're good with scrub NKeal Harry playing more than any other skill player.

Baby steps. First thing is I am focused right now on helping McD get a well-deserved opportunity on another franchise. He's earned it. BOB would be next. Baby steps...

Why does the Globe actively root against the Pats? Is the the Red Sox ownership thing? It's not baseball season....

It's true that Boston media is toxic and absolutely loves to drive up the negativity or jump on any issue. At the same time, I think it's warranted if the Pats have been 4-8 in December since 2019, just lost 2 games in December coming off a bye. I dunno, maybe I should stop thinking this team had an outside chance of making a run. It certainly makes things a lot more tolerable if you just see this as an average team with an average staff around BB and not expect anything except a 1st round exit. I was hoping for more, if the coaching maximized all its pieces, I think it could have been possible....

Never actually said that "I was fine with it". I said I understood why it happened.

But considering your inability to parse beyond the obvious, its understandable why.
