So in theory Cordarelle Patterson would be taking Bademosi's spot as gunner then with Slater sticking around, and Patterson also will be the kick returner who can play some wide receiver although that role is likely limited here. I'll say this, I'd be stunned if the Pats don't have the best special teams unit in the league next year.

Now on to the offense and defense.....

Yes. But as some others have said....what's the point of having a gunner if you didn't force a punt in the Super Bowl? (I know the answer...but I can't wait to see a stouter defense).

Best news of the day. I hope Slater finishes his career here. While it's almost impossible for a ST only player to make the HoF, he might have a shot if he racks up more pro bowls / all pro awards. I don't think he'll make it, but for a 5th round pick, he's provided sensational value. One of my all time favorite Patriots off the field, too.

Yeah he definitely will go down as one of my alltime favorite Patriots. Just a great person, great teammate, and great special team player.

It takes about a game and a half to learn the core plays of any NFL team.
