It's easy, and only takes a few moments. And all the complaints the Pat’s didn’t draft an OT will have been for nothing.Closed practice yesterday, but best I can tell from reports is that he was playing RT with the top unit. Not that many practices back he was still on the third unit.
If they found a starting RT in the fourth round that will have been quite a coup.
I hope the positions are fixed now and they start to have some continuity in practice. I would want sow to take all reps he can at right tackle to see if he has it in him to be decent . Even if he is average , might make sense to keep him at RT and learn the ropes while substituting reiff if necessary to help him out. Mafi to be right guard till Onwenu comes back from injury and promptly pushed to guard backup.
I don't think Anderson is going to be available this season. So more we have Mafi and sow play better it is for next year and for depth purposes. Hopefully Andrews, strange and brown solidify the other side and we have a blocking TE for extra support on right side .
he is playing with the top unit because Reiff has been demoted as has McDermott.Closed practice yesterday, but best I can tell from reports is that he was playing RT with the top unit. Not that many practices back he was still on the third unit.

Reiff no longer has the footspeed to play T. McDermott will battle Sow for starters snaps. both are average to below average at the moment. Sow has great upside, but is a work in progress. We may see McDermott to start, and Sow over take him mid season
Agree with you. But still a big if.Closed practice yesterday, but best I can tell from reports is that he was playing RT with the top unit. Not that many practices back he was still on the third unit.

even a backup OT tackle would be greatClosed practice yesterday, but best I can tell from reports is that he was playing RT with the top unit. Not that many practices back he was still on the third unit.

He was back in that spot [RT] again on Monday, but it was a struggle at times. Working against Matthew Judon -- a tough draw for a guy who played guard for the vast majority of his college career -- Sow appeared to give up two would-be sacks.
Going against Judon in practice is being forged in fire. It's good practice for him.Up and down ...

Judon will tend to make a lineman look like that often. Pick a lineman, any lineman, on any given play. But, up and down. Hope he is a quick learner.Up and down ...

If the Pats are dedicating practice time to having Sow work against their best edge rusher, it is an investment in him. If they give him assignments like that, they expect him to struggle and then learn. Judon is the teacher here. It is like being given mat time with the best martial artist in residence.
If anything, it is a sign that his stock is up.
The writers can be idiots.
We've gone from I'm just trolling, and everyone believes Sow can play tackle, to there are multiple writers who can be idiots because they disagree with a homer point of view.
Did you even read what the writer said? He said Sow was "down" because he did well in the practice game, and then when matched up against Judon in practice, didn't do so well. That has nothing to do with anyone's prior position, homer or otherwise. It was based entirely on those two bits of evidence. You are the one who is bringing a tribal mindset into this that there are two camps and everything that's said is motivated by and supportive of one camp or the other. It just isn't a reflection of reality. We've gone from I'm just trolling, and everyone believes Sow can play tackle, to there are multiple writers who can be idiots because they disagree with a homer point of view.
Yeah, I think they’re mix and matching right now as they figure out the best line and who are capable of backing up which spots. While I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re still mixing it up in the first couple of games, it’s obvious they will do a LOT better than we saw in the first preseason game.Reiff has not been demoted. Reiff is playing RG in place of Onwenu (with the 1st unit), instead of the rookies who were playing RG. When Onwenu returns, either Reiff will return to RT, or be a backup to Sow - I expect Reiff will start the season at RT. Maybe Sow will start at RT later in the season - it is a big jump for Sow from MAC to the NFL and switching from guard to tackle in his rookie year.
I thought Mafi played well but he made a couple obvious gaffes in Thursday’s game. This is likely why he was demoted and Reiff was moved inside.Yeah, I think they’re mix and matching right now as they figure out the best line and who are capable of backing up which spots.
