Kraft needs to sell. The coaching staff are terrible.. and literally anyone with a sound mind predicted this current situation. HC now panicing.. Offence a shambles, line play the worst since pre Bledsoe and the fanbase is on its knees. People who wanted Maye need to suck it up.. People that wanted line investment, a trade down.. a move for a free agent QB.. you were right. BTW thats not hindsight. Alex Van Pelt, worst coach ever.. and trhe GM has questions to answer for sure. I dont want to see Maye get throttled behind this woeful line.

The line isn't as bad as people are making it out to be. JB pocket awareness sucks, he doesn't have down field vision at all, he isn't setting protections well and he's taking a long time to go through reads. I think Maye will make the line look better.

To the people that don't agree, average pressure to QB is only a few tenths of a second faster than KC who has one of the top rated lines in the league

Definitely not the week i would have started him, but in the long run one extra beat down isn’t gonna matter lol think it had to be done very soon regardless. I too am kinda worried for the kid, but he should be able to handle it and take it on the chin. The bigger worry to me was always what lazar was getting at last week with the teetering on mutiny deal. Even if it was an overreaction you had to figure mayo would slowly start to lose the locker room the longer he let Jacoby play when it seems like the team overwhelmingly feels hes not the best qb on the roster.

I don’t expect maye to light it up obviously, but if he can at least pose a threat for us vertically that will have a true impact on the run game and screen game. Hope that this stays a run heavy approach especially this week and he is getting the ball out quick with the occasional shot downfield. And this ones the real test - hopefully the team does respond as a whole to drake.

I might guess that the idea is to get this initial beat down finished and done. There is no pressure this week. We have a solid chance against JAX. So, it may be better if JAX is his second game, rather than his first.

I was thoroughly behind Mayo before this. Now, if he gets fired at the end of this year, I won't shed a tear.

He HAD the courage of his convictions... that is, that this team was not in a position to start a rookie QB. That he would do what was best for the team, and not what was best for some parts of the media and the fanbase.

Now he has been exposed as being weak.

I hope, for the team's sake, that this experience doesn't lead to him developing the bad habits that have doomed other young QBs being put in bad situations.

Everything I’ve heard and read is Mayo has been in favor of playing Maye for awhile now, it’s been Wolf and AVP that want him sitting as long as possible, Mayo said at the end of training camp that Maye outplayed JB in training camp.
