Taking a page out of the Jets playbook is the worst way to run a franchise. Just make the fans happy, and never win a Super Bowl again.
And what if he plays like Daniels and Williams is that a bad thing?? The original plan flopped because Brissett Sucks. I think they should have Signed Jump Ball Joe in FA If they wanted to sit Maye all year. It's absolute torture watching Brissett and they agree might as well give Maye the experience. I think he's going to be alright I liked all Thee QB's not necessarily in the order they were taken.

Here's a thought: If the Patriots were about to start a three game road trip, does anyone think Maye would be starting Sunday? I don't. This move is to ensure the home fans have something to look forward too. Business decision.

I just think a half empty stadium with Brissett, which they might get anyways, is better than a full stadium where Maye is getting sacked ten times by Houston.

Instead of his first start being against a bad team, they decided a SB contending team is the right time to do it.
Turncoat.

Yes, because their OL magically got better the last two days. But hey, at least the fans will be “ entertained,” and that matters much more than developing a good team.

I'm half excited, and half "please don't massacre our boy".

If Maye had played Seattle and Miami those are 2 clear wins lets be real we only needed one more play in each.

I think this week will prove one of the two factions of this fanbase correct.

Either those who want to save him for next year, when we've got one of the top tackles, couple extra linemen and he might actually not die..

Or... those that want to start him regardless of the complete dumpster fire he enters into, because they can't wait another year for some excitement. I somehow see merits in both as the games have been dire...but we will soon find out!
My feeling going into this week is that better QB play is going to help the offensive line more than another player coming onto the roster at this point.

I expect things to be a bit shaky at first but by the second half Drake will be playing football and the Texans will be need to play it straight or they will get burned by Maye or Rhamondre. Drake Maye understands what it means to have a good running back next to him when the defenses pin their ears back like they're doing to Jacobs Brissette.

Drake Maye has also never had two tight ends like Henry and Hooper, who I consider to be complete players.

He came in with bad habits. He was overdrafted.
Playing exposed his weaknesses and got him to improve them.

Every qb doesn’t come in at the same point. Playing badly early doesn’t mean you developed bad habits, it means you haven’t played enough to cure them.
Some QBs just aren’t good and never cure them.
QBs are being drafted now based upon raw ability and putting up stats without ever playing under duress. How they play under duress is what separates them. They have to do it to overcome, some take longer than others, none overcome it without playing.
Well, that should bode well for Maye, because he spent his entire college career under duress.

Just Max protect at times to protect him and hope Pop Douglas springs loose. IF AVP focus on the protections it will help Maye and our OL. Given peace a chance Ivan.

Did starting Caleb Williams in Houston and throwing a million times ruin his career?

I didn’t realize Caleb Williams was playing behind the Patriots OL?

Maye goes for around 200 with at least 1 TD and we are feeling much better a week from today as we prepare for our trip to London.

I don’t care about entertainment, I care about building a winning team. The Jets have been doing this **** for years, and it always fails in the long run.

Could be worse.. according to the Jets they didn't tell their starting QB or their GM that they were firing the HC
I think it was the other way around. Prima Donna Aaron Rodgers didn't tell the GM or the owner "Woody Johnson" that he was firing Robert Saleh.

Keep lying. You wanted them to trade out, and were opposed to taking the QB at 3.

If the over/under for Drake Maye is 200 yards passing, I'd take the over.

Trust the process that's why they're paying them the Big Bucks.

Yes, a Left Tackle in the Top 5 who could anchor the line for the next 10 years is the kind of thing that sets organizations up for the long-term, especially when it protects your #3 pick from last year whom you believe is the man to take us there. But it's not just the first round that you get that top 5 pick, it's EVERY round. I don't know why people don't understand this.
Thanks, I don't need you to spell out the fact that OL, especially LT is a top 3 position in the NFL in 2024. Organizations don't tank for a top 5 pick, especially this one. QB at #1, sure. There's no guarantee the guy you want at 4-5 is going to be there.

I hope you're not going to keep harping on that I have accepted Maye as our Guy he was there for the taken. It wasn't Rocket science if we were going to get him we could have got a Huge haul but I'm fine with his selection. So don't tute your know it all horn too much.

Accepting him is very different from claiming you wanted the QB at 3 all along.

They weren’t getting “ a huge haul.” First there is the fact that they would have been trading down to a worse pick from 3, so that’s a loss. Then even if a team gives you two more first rounders you still have to trade back up at some point to get your QB of the future, and this years QB class sucks, which means you are then waiting another year and getting a rookie QB in 26’ at the earliest, don’t was always a terrible idea.

Tanking is a myth. The only people who can tank are the owner and GM, and that’s only if the owner gives the GM a pass on losing, coaches and players are judged by their record and play on tape. Neither are going to deliberately worse to get the organization a draft pick they will likely not be there for. Neither coaches or players are going to sacrifice future earnings by playing bad or coaching poorly so they will lose games for the franchise.

Terrible decision. Great way to ruin a young QB. But if they want to go with the Jets model it’s on them.
Well tell your team to get a better back up to learn from

Yep. It's always a terrible decision to play a good QB.. boy look at that awful mistake the 4-1 commanders are making.. boy that dumb franchise in Houston they made with CJ ... your right were the smarter franchise.
