Who else is gonna take over for Jacoby? We don't have a good vet on the roster.
Exactly. If their plan was what you say it is, it was always one play from being torn down, and they knew it — once they jettisoned FSBC Zappe. They thought that letting injury drive their decision making with Drake was just fine.

This is a consequence of their grossly negligent evaluation of the OL at end of the preseason. Wolf was convinced it would be fine. It was safe to jettison FSBC Zappe, and if Maye has to fill in, the risks are acceptable.

But now, the OL sucks, JB sucks, the Pats are the worst team in football, Mayo looks overmatched, the fan base is unhappy, FSBC Zappe is gone, and money and prestige are slipping through Kraft’s pudgy fingers. What can they do? Throw the kid out there. Hopefully something good will come out of it and disaster will be avoided, but it’s reckless.

So he's been ready since game one? Because he's been a play away from being inserted since then... Why hasn't he been playing? And why is now the right time?
Because the plan clearly was to use Brissett to give them more time to develop Maye some more.

To me it’s been clear that Maye was ready enough to start week 1 but they chose to develop him as much as they could and as much as Brissett would allow them too.

they just reached the crossover point this week where they evaluated it will be more beneficial to play him rather than start Brissett and continue to develop him.

Well, at least the people who didn’t want them to draft Maye are really happy. And who could blame them, putting him out there with no offensive line should be great for his career.

Alright so we lost Center David Andrews but at least our Guards are in their right positions RG Michael Onwenu and LG M Jordan. Our OL is not exactly a Brickade but I think I they'll get better weekly. With Maye behind Center we'll see how AVP Schemes now we have a lot of issues but our scheme left a lot to be desired. AVP all eyes are on you and your play calling we'll see if you're the right OC for Maye.

This is still my concern. Maybe he is ready, but even at least some in other teams’ front offices believe the Pats may be making a mistake and too reactionary towards starting Maye this quickly. Maybe he is ready and shine, but if he isn’t it could be a mistake to rush his timeline.

Exactly correct. The QB makes all the difference. Look and Daniels his team is rebuilding too. New HC, new OC, new everything and he's 4-1. The QB has more to do than anything with an offense. Brissett is a backup QB he's not a starter in the NFL.

Yeah yeah everybody is an expert and when the Player plays good like J Daniels everybody knew all along. You know what they say about opinions they are like A-holes everybody got one.

That front office executive is probably from a rival AFC team and wants the Patriots to stay down. We kicked ass for 19 seasons.. and they grew tired of it.. so I wouldn't expect anyone from another franchise to want to see us have any type of success with Drake.

Rob I think the move to play Maye was based on certain factors. Football is a Team Sport and we need to evaluate the other pieces on Offense. It became quite obvious that we couldn't evaluate our WR's with a QB like Brissett. What if Maye clicks with these Guys WR might not be dire Need just my opinion.

I also believe the team is in a great position to trade for adams so far no teams are willing to part wit 2nd round picks.. so LV has to drop their asking price. Adams, KB, pop, Polk would be a nice WR corps for maye day... do it wolf!

I am not saying they are definitely rushing the guy. I just think it is a concern that they may be. And the development of Maye takes precedence over everything. You can find WRs far easier than a QB.

Again, my concerns may be unfounded. Maye could have a start similar to Jayden Daniels (doubtful, but he could still have a promising start). I just hope they aren't just reacting to the product on the field and that Maye is either ready or close enough that it won't hurt his development by rushing his timeline a bit.

Real that's Tempting but I don't know with Adams at his age he's close to fall off the cliff territory. I think he would prefer a Contendah!!!

Washington like us is a rebuilding team. So wasn't Houston last season. I really believe that the organization had enough of of sample size on the QB position to evaluate where maye was as opposed to where Brissett was. Teams make changes all the time at QB. The Panthers made a switch and it ignited thier offense. I'm not expecting us to suddenly go on a winning streak. But expecting to be far more competitive on offense.

He would be a 2 year player for us. Polk is Drakes WR.. having Adam's could have a Steff diggs impact for maye like it did for Allen. You feel what I'm saying?

Aside from the Fumbles Rham was having a very good year and Gibby is a dual threat. The RB position seems set and should be the emphasis on Offense with Maye passing off Play Action. H Henry - Pop Douglas - Bourne and Polk should be Factors wouldn't shock me if our Offense raises some eyebrows on Sunday in a good way.

It's a gamble with this OL and this OC. If it works, then we're cookin and all will be (mostly) well eventually....if it doesn't, we can look to New Jersey as a crystal ball.
