The Pats may be best served to win tomorrow and rest their players in week 18.

They need the rest badly.
Meaning rest injured guys or everyone?

If Buffalo loses to the Eagles & the Patriots beat the Jets I agree. Otherwise, they can't rest Maye etc.

Does that possibly cost home field later in the playoffs?

Probably not what will happen but I guess we can hope harbaugh decides to try to win for some momentum next week. You really don’t want a showing like this and then tanking the final game too.

I remember the colts beating the texans for us in i think 2012 or 2013 to help us get the bye when the game was rather meaningless for them.

If we win tomorrow plus buffalo and jax lose then i think the 2 seed is wrapped up. If either team wins they can leapfrog us in the last week if we lose.

The problem is that if Buffalo wins this weekend then NE has to go 2-0 this weekend and next weekend to keep the division. If they go 1-1 and Buffalo goes 2-0, NE loses the division lead due to their record in common games tiebreaker and will end up as a wild card team on the road...

This.

The Patriots can't afford to rest starters if Buffalo wins tomorrow. And the league will probably want the Bills and Patriots playing at the same time in week 18 to avoid games not mattering.

If they beat NYJ & Buffalo loses, I think everyone sits week 18.

It's not about Denver. It's about playing extra games that you can avoid and letting the dominos fall where they may.
That isn’t going to happen. So you deal with the hand dealt you. The 2001 team won the AFCCG on the road. We just need to win out and win 2 winnable playoff games and likely we’ll have a shot to do the same. We never controlled our destiny for the bye.

That is only fair

Other problem is that the Eagles basically have nothing to play for these next two weeks. They have their own division locked up, and the teams in the #1 and #2 seeds are a bit too far away, and the #4 seed will be whichever of Tampa or Carolina barely limps to 9-8 below them. So Philly is basically locked into #3 and they can kinda just take two weeks off... Buffalo will likely get two cakewalk wins.

We have to go 2-0 anyway, even if Buffalo loses and we have the division wrapped up you're giving up a potential home game in the Divisional Round to Jacksonville by dropping a game and falling out of the 2 seed.

If we can’t beat the Jets on the road and the Fins at home - we don’t deserve the division

The discussion was about sitting tons of players vs. the Fins in week 18. NE's depth players are not good, especially with so many injuries going on. Miami can beat that group.

Eagles can still get the two seed. Chicago doesn't play until tomorrow night. I think they have to play starters.

We can’t sit tons of players. We don’t have the depth. So we play who we have. Get a big lead and you can sit people
