Don't understand your need to conflate the NFL Commissioner with one of the greatest mathematicians of the 20th century. Goodell clearly is not in Gödel's league as an intellect, and Gödel never exhibited the character deficiencies that have defined Goodell's tenure.

I understand your point about what you want in your QB, though I don't completely agree with it because Griffin has already shown that he isn't close to being the best QB in the league.

Before Griffin got injured, he was playing like, and being looked at as, a top level QB, and we even had a thread around here asking whether he or Luck would have the better career. People keep putting that out of their mind. The kid may never hit that height again, but people really need to give him a break. Had his inevitable injury not happened until year 5, things might have turned out a lot differently in D.C..

I can think of a few places where he could resurrect his career. Buffalo's one. Philadelphia's another (assuming Chip Kelly's ok with black people). Chicago too.

Vick looked pretty awesome for a while there too. QBs that rely mostly on their mobility don't seem to have super long careers.. I won't bust on him - better to be a flash in the pan - then bust out..

Im not sure the Redskin will ever pick the right QB. They have the winningest QB in NCAA history on their roster, and someone SP tried to draft Colt McCoy. A Drew Brees clone , and Bree's Old QB coach is on the team,
But they decide to develop the Dud instead of possible stud.

Regardless of what your take is on McCoy, he is often compared to New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who McCoy is also a big fan of, so the following is a side-by-side comparison between the two to show the similarities.

McCoy stands at 6'1" according the the Browns' team site.

Brees stands in at 6'0" according to the Saints' team site.

Anyone who says McCoy is not tall enough to be a starting quarterback needs to put that excuse away for good, because McCoy has a good height for an NFL quarterback.

McCoy weighs in at 216 pounds according to the Browns' site.

Brees is 209 pounds according to the Saints' site.

McCoy is the winningest quarterback in the NCAA's history, and his stats are better than those of Brees when he was in college at Purdue. This could be a result of better players at Texas with McCoy, but the point is that both had good college careers, and Brees has been able to transition to the NFL successfully.

Brees's Purdue stats: 11,792 yards, 61-percent completion percentage, 90 touchdowns

McCoy's Texas stats: 13,253 yards, 70-percent completion percentage, 112 touchdowns

McCoy was a finalist in 2008 and 2009.

Brees was a finalist in 1999 and 2000.

Brees has been known for his high football intelligence, and McCoy has said to have a high football IQ as well.

Back in 2000 Brees, along with one other player (Kyle Vanden Bosch), was named to the National Scholar Athletes list in its second year of naming college athletes.

McCoy was named to the National Scholar Athlete list in 2009

I dont know a QB that has ever survied in Cleveland, in fact Walsh even called them QB killers.
After that 2 years of 2nd string in 2013 SF and 2014 washington where he had a 96.4 passer rating.
If this kid even has a 50/50 shot at being Brees like with better accuarcy, then the Redskins are nuts for not developing him.
You can have a canon arm like RG3. but if your to slow to pull the trigger, cant move in a pocket, no situational awareness, and a silly ego that only gets in the way of process and hard work.

I think We as fans have put an unrealistic amount of expectation on QBs. I remember QBs used to need 3-4 on the bench before they are ready. Rodgers warmed the bench for a while and even when he started, he wasnt great. There is so much to learn at thE pro level, not only in terms of skill and playbook but also how to Protect yourself against stage fright, media and win the trust of your team mates. Drew Brees similarly took a long time to develop.

There are the rare Ones like Luck, Flacco, Big Ben, who are able to come in and play decent. Same Goes with other positions, maybe not as difficult. Look at Edelman and welker.
