It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Rivers and Flowers were both high risk, high reward picks with first year injuries. Flowers worked out and Rivers did not.I've been thinking hard about this post for a few minutes and I still can't figure out what it could possibly mean.
Youre in for a dose of hard reality.Oh stop, they didnt win championships because of one player. Thats what made the Pats great, it was a team effort. It was great to have Brady but for example the Superbowl win two years ago wasn't because of him.
As time marches on with Bill void of the GOAT QB, it will become clearer and clearer. No one is doubting that and I've been a huge Brady fan and always will be, but it wrong to say that we've won 6 superbowls because of 1 player. My point was that we've had great teams, and it's been a team effort, when our offense was down, our defense would pick us up and vice versa.
Rivers was # 83
I aint sayin that NE needs any WRs, TEs or a beast RB.
Chris Godwin # 84
Kenny Golliday # 96
George Kittle # 146
Kareem Hunt # 86
Whiskey doesnt kill the pain anymore.
If you want to criticize the Rivers pick then you need to criticize Trey Flowers as well.
We havent had a good defense in a long time and last years defense picked the wrong half of the season to be good
I'm not certain what that means. I think Simon is one of the more dependable defenders. The pats played most of this season rotating in JAGs on the edge while barely playing Winovich & having Uche inactive. That changed sunday & the pass rush was rejuvenated. Cutting Rivers paves the way for more snaps for Uche & a more concentrated pass rush trio on the edge:
Simon
Calhoun (IR)
Rivers (cut)
Winovich
Bower
Winovich
Simon
Uche
Now hopefully Uche can continue to progress and make Simon a rotational player.
It's scary that Ferentz is more valuable than FroholdtDefensive line is being rebuilt before our eyes. Carl Davis, Isaiah Mack, Tashawn Bower, Chase Winovich. Became a numbers game for Rivers, as they needed to make room for Terez Hall.
Today, they also waived Froholdt to make room for Sony Michel.
Soon, they will need to make room for Justin Herron.
We are watching a different game.Simon is awful and ranked as the worst at his position via PFF. More often than not, he looks like he's just standing around during plays. He's the most ineffective front seven player I've seen since 2008 Vrabel.
Rotation should be: Winovich, Uche and Jennings.

Their last names are also both names of wildly occurring objects and both end in -ers.
What?We are watching a different game.
Yes, it will be clearer that bb is the goat.As time marches on with Bill void of the GOAT QB, it will become clearer and clearer.
Yes, it will be clearer that bb is the goat.
TB was great, no argument. And will likely reign as the goat qb for a while (? Forever-who knows).
BUT, remember
1. BB MADE Tb into WHO he was/is. The moxie/spunk/confidence was his, but the knowledge and how-to came from the intensive film room for years w BB.
2. Football is and will forever be a team game. Exactly what effect did TB have on sp teams and the field position battle? Or on the D side? Tell me what he did to scheme up robber LBs to stop mobile qbs - the 2-5-4 alignments or 1-6-4 D alignments, those were all Brady's idea? TB told Butler to jump the slant on the goal line, right?
BB had a hard start to the reboot. The cap was in **** and he missed on a few draft crapshoots.
After all the unfairly stolen picks, he got a bit too gamblerish with them possibly trying to make up for the losses.
But the team is showing promise and intestinal fortitude.
TB and TB may have a better record at year's end than Pats and Cam, but I bet you at season end/playoff time the team that will look tougher will be the pats, and the dysfunctional /unable to handle adversity team will be Tampa.
Depends on what your definition of "good" is. 2014 was good, 2015 was better. 2016 was good. 2017 was good until the abomination in the Super Bowl. 2018 was terrible until the playoffs. We havent had a good defense in a long time and last years defense picked the wrong half of the season to be good
Point #1 - what an amazingly lazy and short-sighted take. TB made TB. Bill has said this himself about his high football IQ, relentless film study and maniac obsession with keeping his body in prime shape to withstand the rigors of the football season year after year into his 40s. Bill may have given him the Xs and Os but it was Brady that put that into action on the field in the highest pressure situations leading come back after come back in the playoffs culminating in SIX game winning drives to win all SIX SBs. Would have been 9 for 9 if Bill's defense did not crap the bed twice against Eli and if he didn't bench Butler vs the Eagles.Yes, it will be clearer that bb is the goat.

Point #2 - TB effected everything because he plays the position that effects the outcomes of games the most. He also took less money so Bill could sign players like Revis and Browner and Gilmore given him unprecedented flexibility as a GM with the GOAT QB who never came close to being paid like an elite QB much less the best QB in the game.
The cap situation is Bill's fault. The cap didn't happen to him, he created it by his awful drafts and inability to have any sort of succession play at QB.
Pretty sure I will take the better record and playoffs over moral victories but then again that pretty much seems to be the theme this year for the Pats. But, but, but look how hard we tried!
