RIP Bob Neumeier

Neumie was a good decent calm man. Never over reacted and could always count on him to be a sane voice in the turbulent Boston Sports scene. He sure knew a lot about horse racing. RIP Neumie

Bob Neumeier was a good man and excellent reporter/interviewer. I used to bump into him years ago at Commercial Wharf where he had a place and I had an an office. If he had a few minutes he loved to talk sports and Boston politics. Sad to learn of his health issues in the last few years. Best wishes to his family and friends on their loss. Another great Syracuse sports journalism standout.

My remembrance or "Neumy" had to do with his time on WEEI with Dale Arnold, always well spoken, not hysterical, not conspiratorial.. just good sports talk. He used to speak reverently about his mother all the time.

Read somewhere he had been in hospice for 8 weeks prior to his death...

I always liked Neumeier. He was very even keeled and not prone to speculation when delivering the news. Damn... 70 is too young.

He died from CHF, congestive heart failure. I had an aunt who smoked like a chimney die from CHF at 59. While i think of chr as something that usually associated with 80 or 90 years old, obese coach potatoes, its not necessarily so. Neumier always looked in shap
