RIP Bob Neumeier

Just heard it as well. He had a stroke a couple of years ago but recovered.

Will always be Neumie

70 years old. A lot younger than it used to appear to me.

Neumie seemed like one of the true good guys in the industry. RIP.

that's sucks, Neumie was a one of the good ones in sports media...loved the ponies

Thats a shame. Havent seen him since I moved Down South in 1991. But he always seemed like a good guy. Which was always a rarity among the clowns of Boston sports media and still is today.

He had a stroke in 2014, thought he was doing well since then, too bad, he was one of the good guys of the 80's and 90's era.

Damn, one of those guys that I felt really loved the sports he covered. RIP Bob, and thoughts with his family today.

He was a classy guy, he came back from his '14 stroke and was doing covering things like the breeders cup, then he seemed to disappear. I thought he might be on a boston tv channel which i don't get.

Godspeed, Neumie. A true pro.

Awful news. I can't stand 90 percent of the local boston sports media. But neumie was the best. And one of the few good guys. He was a pro, and he always did his job with a smile. I loved his work. It really sucks to know he's not around anymore. Rip neumie you will be missed.

Neumie was a Weymouth native and knew his Boston sports. He was on his way to becoming the top horse guy in the business when he had his stroke in 2014. He made his mark and this is a sad day.

Really sad. Not only was he a Boston sports guy from the Boston area, but he also covered Track and Field, of which I'm a huge fan.

While I haven't lived in the Boston area for 25 years...I was a fan of Neumie for sure.

He was one of the best. Sad news.
