Not sure if this is embedded into another thread or not, if so, please delete. The injury bug continues to plague the organization. Drake better be ready for a world of hurt cause those fellas have nothing to worry about when screaming across that line.

Sorry, I forgot to add that this is according to PFT.

Gibson has looked good time to see what he can do as the lead back.

Hasty should be ok as backup but now we'll need to call someone else up too right?

Can they wrap him in bubble wrap? What will happen if he gets hit? Will he cry? Will he be traumatized and never again be the potential HoF QB we all know he is sure to always be if he never plays?

He'll always be a hof qb in my mind. On a serious note, I never said wrap him in a bubble. I basically said his ass is gonna get lit up, which is less than ideal for a rookie qb making his first start to be without the teams best offensive weapon. Next man up though, right? That's been working so well this season. Maybe the positive side to all of this is having Rham out will force AVP to get more creative with his play calling to protect Maye. If we see that, perhaps they can surprise the Texans with a thing or two.

Per Mike Reiss

Facing pressure is something Maye was familiar with in two seasons at North Carolina. UNC allowed 409 pressures total in 2022 and 2023, the most of any FBS school, according to ESPN Research.

He just needs a couple of chances to punch them in the gut and they'll call off the dogs. Hopefully we see him get that opportunity.

No, he's a tough kid by all accounts. But he's not Superman, and the elevated risk of injury from an apocalyptically bad OL just went higher. It's not a good situation for any QB, let alone a raw rookie with 10 snaps in the NFL. Some are fine with that elevated risk, some aren't, but why mock and mischaracterize those who you disagree with? It's childish.

Kevin Harris and Terrell Jennings are PS guys. I would guess one of not both are available.

My buddies brother lives in ACC country has watched a lot of Maye.

He tells me that Maye is for real.

Like someone else said, Gib and Hasty should be able to get something going. Hopefully. I think we will see a bit more passing and yardage this game. Drake isn’t tiny nor slow. I think some think he’s fragile and has never been hit…dudes OL at UNC blew and he dealt fine. Yea he’s a kid and needs to learn. No better way than live fire. Practice is for mechanics, play repetition, and getting looks from the scout d. He could be injured just as easily at practice….so I don’t get it.

In that case he ought feel right at home behind New England's line.
Nice of Wolf to go out of his way to put the kid in his comfort zone.

His experience with pressure is the only comforting thought I have right now, and it's not really helping much.

I understand but hey, some comfort is better than none comfort.

Jennings looks like one of those RBs who come out of nowhere and okay well, like a lot guys the 49ers have kept as backups over the years.

It’s football. QBs get pressured and sometimes hit. They don’t die, they rarely get injured. It is probably the safest position on the field except kickers.

Play whoever can pick up a blitz and block.

A quick note on Gibson:

It indicative of just how intermittent and disappointing his progress as a player has been that I am pretty much indifferent to the news.
