I'm copying this from the former TE thread and it's kind of hidden in there.

Training camp has started can we please have no former TE threads ? He's not on the team anymore, he's not in the league anymore, and we have a season to play.

I'm just asking here, but is there any chance we can move this thread to the NFL forum? Its just that I don't want to see his name as it only makes me feel sick to the bone. He is no longer a Patriots player and never will be again.

The sight of that person makes me sick, so does seeing his thread here. Do the right thing and get rid of it from this forum. Please.

I'm done with the topic myself, but I don't see how it's fair or even makes sense to move it to another forum. If people are talking about it and it's Patriots related, which sadly it is, then why should it be moved?

This reminds me of people who refuse to look at pictures of war and the like. Ignoring it doesn't make it go away - it's the reality we are better served by facing that reality and learning to accept it.

at least one giant merged thread pls

I agree. It's too bad the Patriots are attached to this tragedy. But there's a thread ignore feature that works quite well for those who don't want to see his name around here.

You can do what I did and simply ignore all the threads (well, I ignored all of them but the main one). Ignore thread is a great tool. Give it a shot.

My only issue is that every time I see the thread "two more murders" for a half second I think "Oh, no! Not more!"

Thread ignore is wonderful. i'm about to use it.

How about we let Pats fans decide for themselves what threads they want to participate in and leave the thinly veiled attempts at censorship where they belong..in the sewer with the rest of the totalitarian rhetoric.

Can we compromise on a single thread with the title changed to "All things Aaron Hernandez"?

LMAO, over react at all ?

I didn't know about this "ignore thread" thing, I'll try it. How do I do it ?

Click on a thread. Find the thread tools. In the thread tools is the "ignore thread" function.

It's a relevant and in my opinion interesting topic, we're talking about one of our star players potentially being serial killer. I understand the site of him may make you sick and you have no interest in partaking in the discussion, and I and nobody else is forcing you to partake in it, you can use the ignore fiction, or just elect not to read the threads on your own.

I would ask you to offer the same respect I have for your decision not to partake, that you respect the fact that I want to be able to discuss the topic. Asking that all the threads be closed is forcing me and others who are interested to abide by your desires.

I agree - though I do like the general "spirit of the OP's suggestion that we do as fans what the team is going to do - focus on football and the players that are there.

I generally have refrained from any further Hernandez commentary - especially what appears to be new depths of arrogance and idiocy (if he claimed he was unaware murder was illegal, I might actually be inclined to believe him.)

There's just not too much else to be said - he's a former Patriot and he's not coming back

end of story

ME??? Over react???...nah...NEVER!...........

While it is a tragedy, it is relevant to the Patriots. As this is forum to discuss all things Patriots it is extremely relevant for discussion on this board as well.

It's odd how this works sometimes. My local high school put a gag order on the teachers to 'not discuss 9/11' during the week following the event. Why pretend it didn't happen. THought tragic, it is a significant event worthy of discussion.

Agree they should merge all the murder threads into one. Plus any further Tyree/Spygate/Welker drop threads should get merged with it in one giant crapheap thread that'd make it much easier.

Thanks, I ignored that thread and all the other OT ones. Much better now.

Glad you are tailoring the forum to your personal tastes and enjoying it.

I think we all see what your point is, and while many agree with it on some level it's an enormously popular and compelling topic of conversation at the moment that likely won't go away until the real season starts.

Everyone will be different. Until there are more sufficient topics of conversation that are relevant to actual football I personally will still remain interested in the murder investigation, but I certainly see and appreciate your frustration. Let's just hope the season gets here soon.
