may as well throw someone's first born in for the craic. If Cleveland really wants Garoppolo my guess is

Your suggested offer from Cleveland is less than Houston traded to get Watson.
Or this is Brady's last year in NE irrespective of how he plays. The easy part is believing that BB sees JG as the successor to TB. The hard part, is how can they get their if Brady does indeed play 3 more years (if not more). I just don't see a path, outside the unforeseen. That is, unless Brady gets hurt, Brady takes true peanuts in pay, JG wants to sit on the bench and signs a team friendly extension, or Brady retires. Does anyone really believe that the Patriots will tag JG and pay Brady during 2018? How about for 2019 too? I just don't see that happening. So while BB might really believe in him, how does he keep him if Brady keeps playing?

No one thought the 2001 Pats were going to win the SB.
No Pats fan (at least that I remember) had any thought of Bledsoe every leading the Pats back to a SB (in 2001) let alone winning one.
Your comment is complete revisionist history.
BB's first year in NE he completely overhauled the team and they went like 5 -11 (in 2000).
BB is the greatest coach ever, but he got super lucky with Tom Brady. Just like Walsh got lucky with Montana (and then Young).
So to answer your question I don't remember when folks would have said the same about Bledsoe, but if you thought the 2001 Pats were going to win the SB with Bledsoe, then I guess you had a much better read on the team than many others.
Or this is Brady's last year in NE irrespective of how he plays.
My guess is the plan is to see how Brady plays next year. If he hits a wall (like Favre, Manning, et al. did out of the blue), they will move on from him and hand the keys to Garoppolo. At 40, Brady is also probably more likely to get injured. That would certainly qualify as the unforeseen.
In all honesty though, if Brady tosses up another great year, with the Pats doing their usual 12 to 14 win season, and deep run in the playoffs, do you really think BB will cut ties with Brady? He will have to do just that cuz I don't think Brady plans to retire if he plays well.
Cleveland will be all in on Sam Darnold and it's a shame he must be praying someone anybody else drafts him.
Still baffled by this decision. I believe in my heart that brady can play at a pro bowl level the next two or 3 seasons.

Bill doesn't make decisions based on his heart, thank god.
...... then, trade 52 for Sherman and use whatever combo of picks are needed next April to outbid everyone for Darnold who, could apprentice under Brady for a couple of years. If Cleveland really wants Garoppolo my guess is

Well bill must think that brady will fall off. Based on what?
Seriously, the whole "Browns being Browns" thing is getting stale. It is an entirely new regime. They have a clean slate. Why? The browns are actually building a good team this outdated browns joke should stop. Coleman looked good last year and they are adding a stud TE to go with a defense there building.
He gets asked the same question all the time. That's basically a standard answer. Whether it's to avoid a retirement tour type of press coverage or if it's how he really feels is up for debate. We DO know that there was some talk between him and his wife about hanging it up after this last one. Six would pretty much keep him as the GOAT, the title count all but out of reach for future aspiring GOAT QBs, and would put him at 41 years old with his health intact and able to spend more time with his family. It's not exactly a stretch to imagine a discussion behind the scenes of Brady planning to retire if he wins his 6th this year. Whether you want to admit it or not, the theory holds water.
That was an Onion-like article. Another one from the same site claimed he'd play until he was sacked into his grave.
My intent wasn't to bash anyone. I responding to a reply to my post. You want to talk about revisionist history, just look at your post. BB didn't completely overhaul the team in 2000. It was actually a 2 year process. He was bound by a bunch of bad contracts, salary cap wise, in 2000.
You say that BB got "lucky" with Brady. No. He didn't get lucky. He had a very good coach in **** Rehbein who had evaluated both Brady and Tim Rattay. When Rehbein was asked which QB to take, he said, without pause, Brady. Rehbein recognized what Brady had.
Furthermore, you're totally missing the point of @n6249c 's post. His point was that no one figured that Brady would come in and do what he did. You're bashing the guy for an argument he didn't make regarding Bledsoe.
