Reiss game by game predictions for 2018: 11-5

I don't do the silly game-by-game predictions. I just look at the fact that they've won 12 (or more) games for 8 years running.

12-4 is my pessimistic prediction. I fully expect 13-3 and consider 14-2 a legit possibility.
Exactly... Let's see if or how the defense improves first.

In other times Reiss would make this prediction after training camp. Not sure he wants to just get some attention or if ESPN is demanding that kind of stuff.

I guarantee you that his contract with them stipulates that he has no control over final edit.

I think Jax is one of the more difficult teams on the schedule, but I don’t see them as tough as everyone here seems to believe. Last year was last year. NE has added Mathews, Patterson, Shelton, Clayton, JMAC and will be getting back Rivers, Hightower and Edelman. This is in addition to 2 first rounders and 2 second rounders from this year’s draft.
Jax will be 8-8 this year.

How are you going to make a prediction like this before the draft and training camp signings?

It's an easy way to fulfill output requirements

I tend to agree but seems like most of their tough games are at home.

They still have Blake Bortles who is an ave QB at best.

I think the loss of GOATDola and Cooks will have an impact in the offense. If BB goes full defense on the draft like I think he will (and should) then I think we will be in to some ugly games, with the defense winning a few for us. Balance between the units is good, last year we won 100% of our wins on the offense, that defense was garbage and it was evident from Week 1 despite what the stats and numbers say.
Its because ALL 32 team writers did it. probably for some nfl preview type thing

They were 10-6 last year against a weak schedule.

What I don’t agree with is people saying they will be good based on last year. Half of last year’s playoff teams will miss the postseason this year. The previous year can be a good indicator of things to come but not necessarily.

The over/under for the Pats win total is 11.5, as it's been this way for the past few years, I believe. 12-4 sounds about right, as long as Brady doesn't fall off the cliff and/or we don't suffer significant injury losses very early in the season.

Edit: Before anyone says over 11.5, it's not that easy. You pay -140 to win a 100 and even money on the under. What a rip-off.

We’re not losing to AJ McCarron; and don’t bring up that we lost to Nick Foles & PHI. That team is/was STACKED.

We beat buffalo 23-3@buf and 36-17. Brady owns the Bills as bad as he owns the Steelers.

My realistic predictions:
Hou: W
@ Jax: L (If you have to pick a lose this is pretty realistic)
@ Det: W
Mia: W
vs Ind: W
vs KC: L (I watched the 2017 opener and SB)
@ Chi: W
@ Buf: W (Brady owns the Bills)
vs GB: W
@ Ten: W
Bye
@ NYJ: W
vs Min: W
@ Mia: L (If you are going to pick a divisional loss, this is it)
@ Pitt: W (Brady owns the Steelers)
vs Buf: W
vs NYJ: W

13-3 no homer

But they aren't losing to the Jags. Why not? Because I'm going to that game. And they've never lost a game that I've gone to.

I need to make the trip up there via I-95. The games I have been to in Miami have not gone so well. I seen to decide to attend only the ones the Patriots lose.

They do it because it is a great way to get attention and get people talking about something they wrote and et clicks - as this thread proves.

I got sucker punched by a drunk 50-something Dolphins fan back in 2004 when I was 18. Back of the head too.

It's not a place to go in full Patriots gear, IMO, without expecting A LOT of heckling, if not worse. It's not Oakland or Philly, but there appears to be something in the water (beer?) to convert the normally-chill south Florida folks into goons.

Oh yeah. I went again in 2010 and some coward fired a beer bottle (half-full... what a waste) past my head. I turned around to see who it was and there was a large group yelling down at me and flicking me off. That was before the blowout commenced. Once that happened, the left in droves and the remaining Pats fans in my section were chanting, “na an na na, na na na na, hey heyyyyy, goodbye”.

Can't see us losing to Houston to open up the season especially at home. We will see.

With what happened in last years opener, a loss to Houston wouldn't shock me, an 0-2 start would be shocking however.
