Had a fun 6 weeks or so before the all star break. I think the lackluster moves at the deadline, injuries, and Houck wearing down really doomed them.

But they need more than 2. Houck is pretty good but they really need 1 stud starter- there are guys available this offseason but is Henry gonna keep being a cheap bastard?
Kenley Jansen might retire so probably need at least one bullpen stud. And several of the best are free agents. So again, it comes down to Henry not being a miser as usual. I'm skeptical

Attendance still averaging over 30K+ per game. Unless NESN subscriptions have fallen off in a way in person attendance has not then I expect Henry & Co will continue pulling the teats of the cash cow until the milk the poor ol' thing gives out is powdered

Didn't fit their timeline. Next year is the year is all kicks off. People are pretty dumb overall. Trade the farm, people ***** there is no farm. Keep the farm, people ***** you are keeping the farm. There isn't an in between until you have some solid or above average major league talent already in the Show. Then, you can pilfer some of the prospects and or MLB level talent.

This year was all about seeing what the young core that up at the MLB level has, also to showcase some of them to other teams for possible trades and upgrades in the offseason. Add to that the minors and the big 5 really and there is a lot stuff to be done.

fired a bunch of low level coaches yesterday. Not sure why you would fire a bullpen catcher. Not sure what their duties are other than to catch the guy warming up and then throwing the ball back to him. The bullpen coach would be the one who is monitoring mechanics and warm up routines.
